It has been way too long since we played Fiasco so we were super excited to get wild with this very fun story telling game. Fiasco is like a Coen Brothers movie in that things typically break bad and our characters face some truly horrible things. Also, a big part of Fiasco is setting up the game itself, which is really fun. If I can take a step outside of in character podcast descriptions for a second, it is obvious that Michael needed a break from trying (and usually failing) to kill us every week so he sent us to the beach. It has been seven years since the Lich, Sinu the Red, was defeated. The lands of Drunkeros have more or less been at peace. Sure, no one has done anything about Pyre, the ancient red dragon who controls Mastwick. And occasionally a goblin tribe will harass trading caravans or some poor mercenaries may find themselves turning to the other side of the law. But, the scars of the past are being healed. Deephome is prospering under Queens Aludra and Jaela's rule. Pelor's Hope has opened trade to the far corners of the realm under Queen Ashayara Dayne's stern, but loving care. After that undead terror, Sinu the Red, uttered but a word Steve fell to the ground using his last ounce of strength to ensure that he did not fall onto his baby which he brought into battle with a beast so strong it is on the cover of both the Dungeon Masters Guide as well as Tomb of Annihilation. Sound escapes him as he is no longer able to hear his two allies scream in unison once they realize what has just happened. Steve is used to death, unfortunately. The mystery of this town gets a little deeper but definitely not clearer. It is hard to help but think that everyone in this town is hiding something from us.
