A serial rapist terrorised the women of Amager, greater Copenhagen for many years, at one time waiting for 10 years before he attacked again. His victims ranged from elderly women to teenagers, and police struggled to connect the crimes to anyone. Looking out of the train window, a witness saw a large man striking a young woman, then forcing both his hands on her shoulders so she couldn’t get back up. The witness opened the train window and heard the young woman screaming: “Please, don’t! Please don’t!” The train passenger shouted for the attacker to stop, but the train was already moving. In November 2014, Sony Pictures fell victim to a massive cyber-attack. In the decade after the First World War, the men of a small Hungarian town died by the dozen, all suffering a similar fate. Michel Peiry is said to have committed as many as 11 murders in the 1980s. He’s also known as the Sadist of Romont, or the Swiss Hitchhiker Killer. Alexander ‘Sasha’ Spesivtsev lured women and children into his Soviet-style apartment. He tortured, raped and murdered them. When his mother found the corpses, she took it upon herself to dismember them and dispose of them piece by piece in the Aba River. Smaller pieces were made into soups and stews that mother and son enjoyed together. Their dog always had a human bone, cut from the latest victim to chew on. Phoolan Devi’s family arranged her marriage to a man three times her age when she was only 11 years old. Suffering constant sexual assault and abuse, she managed to flee from her husband, to the disgrace of her family. Destitute and angry, she joined a gang of bandits and took revenge on upper-caste men who married young girls.  She fell in love with one of the gang members, but he was killed in gang related conflict.
