The Rush Limbaugh Show

RUSH: We welcome to our program Dr. Arthur Laffer, ladies and gentlemen, who has prepared a research paper on the Obama health care plan. I’ve admired your work, Dr. Laffer, ever since I first heard of you back in the late seventies, early eighties. It’s great to have you here.LAFFER: Well, thank you very much, Rush. It’s a pleasure.RUSH: By the way, I want to share something with you. You may not know this, but you are partially responsible for Obama becoming a community organizer, from chapter 7, page 54 of his book, Dreams from My Father: ‘There wasn’t much detail to the idea of community organizer. I didn’t know anybody making a living that way. When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn’t answer them directly instead I’d pronounce on the need for change, change in the White House where Reagan and his minions were carrying on their dirty deeds.’LAFFER: (chuckling)RUSH: You were a minion doing dirty deeds.LAFFER: A minion? Minion, minion! Oh, my gosh!RUSH: (laughs)LAFFER: I don’t know if you remember, Rush, but I was on your show in studio in Sacramento, California, many, many years ago.RUSH: Oh, that’s right. You know, you’re exactly right.LAFFER: You impressed me enormously then as well as today.RUSH: Well, I thank you very much for that. It’s mutual, then. I have a summary here of your findings. Let me just run through a couple bullet points and then you can take it and expand on this. ‘The current proposals being discussed in Washington, House and Senate, would raise the total federal government expenditures by 5.6% more than otherwise, adding $285.6 billion to the deficit in 2019, would increase national health care spenders by an additional 8.9%. After all this, it would still leave 30 million Americans uninsured.’ Fill in the blanks here for us.LAFFER: Well, you know, it’s a fairly straightforward thing. Without going through the specific numbers — although I’d be more than happy to do that — you know, whenever you separate people from the purchases they make… If you walked into a store and weren’t told what anything cost and you could pick out whatever you wanted free, you’re going to be squanders, you’re going to buy things that are way too expensive that you don’t want. I mean, one of the ways controlling costs is making people responsible for their own money, for their own expenditures and that is exactly what this program does not do. It makes the separation between the patient and the doctor and health services further and further removed, and takes away all control of costs. And, frankly, as P.J. O’Rourke put it, he said, ‘If you think health care is expensive now, just wait ’til you see how much it costs when it’s free,’ and that’s exactly what we’re doing here.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2009/08/04/rush_interviews_dr_arthur_laffer/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Rush Interviews Dr. Arthur Laffer

RUSH: Greetings to you, music lovers, thrill-seekers, conversationalists all across the fruited plain. Man, oh, man. I have such a range of emotion flowing through my arteries and veins, going to my heart and away from my heart. I’m watching these people at the Biden inauguration. They think they got it all back. They think they finally have vanquished all of their opposition. And they haven’t the slightest idea. You can hear it in the words they’re saying to each other. You can hear it in the way they’re singing their songs. You can see it in the people that showed up for this inauguration who didn’t show up four years ago for the Trump inauguration, and I have to tell you, ladies and gentlemen, I just — (crowd chanting “We love you! We love you!”) Wait a minute. What’s this? That was obviously audio from a Trump rally, one of the many that occurred before the election last November. “We love you.”https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2021/01/20/the-establishment-thinks-they-have-their-power-back-but-they-know-its-tenuous/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Establishment Thinks They Have Their Power Back — But They Know It’s Tenuous

RUSH: All right. So look at that headline right there: “Republicans and Democrats Clash Over Police Reform.” You know what this is about? This is about an actual piece of legislation that is being argued and debated in the United States Senate. And I did a double take because that’s not how laws are made in our country anymore. The Senate and House don’t actually do anything anymore ’cause they’re all afraid to. Our laws come from regulators, unelected bureaucrats and our judges, as has just been demonstrated by these Supreme Court decisions.Josh Hawley from Missouri got it exactly right when he was complaining about Gorsuch and the decisions on the sexual discrimination cases being lapped into the 1964 Civil Rights Act. You know, to put this in perspective, to show you how we conservatives — look, folks, I don’t want to dispirit you here. I’ve already got a story here of polling data — well, a poll shows that half of Americans are unhappy. Let me find the actual headline. Yeah. “Americans Are the Unhappiest They’ve Been in 50 Years.” Not half of Americans. The unhappiest they’ve been in 50 years. Does that not make sense?https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2020/06/17/america-is-unhappy-because-of-the-epic-failures-of-liberalism/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

America Is Unhappy Because of the Epic Failures of Liberalism

RUSH: the Supreme Court rule today that states can no longer be judged by voting discrimination that went on decades ago. This is a decision that marks the end of a major civil rights-era reform, the Voting Rights Act. A 5-4 ruling, and it rewrites a key element of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which for 50 years has given the federal government unprecedented say in everything, from how states draw their congressional maps, to where they place polling locations. It was all rooted in the belief that southern states were highly discriminatory against blacks, not letting them vote, not letting them register, so the states were totally subservient to the federal government when it came to voting.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2013/06/25/the_left_is_in_tizzy_over_the_supreme_court_ruling_on_the_voting_rights_act/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Left is in Tizzy Over the Supreme Court Ruling on the Voting Rights Act

RUSH: (Northam impression) “I’ll tell you something else about old Ralph, Ralph Northam, Ralph Northam from Virginia. Ralph Northam, he doesn’t even think the Democrats really want him to quit. He thinks they’re just sayin’ it ’cause they have to. That’s what he thinks. He thinks they don’t really want him gone, and he thinks they don’t really want his lieutenant governor to sit in in the governor’s chair if they’re forcing him out. So he’s gonna hang on!“So he’s gonna hang on, ’cause ain’t no way ain’t no way some Amos ‘n’ Andy thing back in high school is gonna force him out when Donald Trump is sitting there in Oval Office after Stormy Daniels and Access Hollywood. Ol’ Ralph Northam ain’t leaving!” If they want to get Ralph Northam gone, stop all this blackface high school stuff and focus on what he said about killing babies after they’re born. (paraphrased) “Yeah, you make them comfortable, give ’em a pill, whatever you do to make an infant comfortable, and then you zap it.”That’s what Ralph Northam said. That’s what they covered up. Well, Steve Moore was on CNN brought this up. We have here Erin Burnett, we have Keith Boykin, we have April Ryan. So we got three people against one here, if you count the CNN infobabe, and listen to what happens. This is about a one-minute sound bite. Listen to what happens when Steve Moore brings up what old Ralph Northam from Virginia really, really did…https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2019/02/05/democrats-use-ralph-northams-racism-to-cover-up-what-he-said-about-abortion/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Democrats Use Ralph Northam’s Racism to Cover Up What He Said About Abortion

RUSH: Oh, do you know what I heard right before the program started? This is another great illustration of a point that I’ve been making for I don’t know how long. A quarterback in the National Football League — and I didn’t see it. It was not videotaped so I don’t know who it was. But a current quarterback in the NFL actually said, “Look, I don’t want to get political, but I would like to get back to work.”Now, when the hell did going to work become political? Right now — right here, right now — and who has made this possible? Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, all these mask-wearing freaks demanding that you use the symbol of fear, demanding that everybody wear the symbol of fear. I know why some people believe in masks, and it’s because of the success that we’ve had at grocery stores. You know, from the beginning of this, people have been able to go to the grocery store, and there has not been the widespread infections of coronavirus in grocery stores. People had to go there, and they had to go to pharmacies, and there hasn’t been a lot of infection spread. So those people in the grocery stores were all wearing masks and gloves and so the theory is that wearing the mask, wearing the gloves helped stop the spread. So if it worked in grocery stores, why not elsewhere?https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2020/05/27/democrats-demand-you-wear-a-symbol-of-fear/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Democrats Demand You Wear a Symbol of Fear

RUSH: The Democrats now are admitting privately amongst themselves, they are admitting that they lost. Biden is out with a couple of doses of honesty that are going to be really challenging for his buds in the Democrat Party. Joe Biden in one story here says that he doesn’t think Hillary knew why she was running for president.“Vice President Biden believes Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election in part because she never figured why she was running for the nation’s highest office. ‘I don’t think she ever really figured it out,’ Biden told the Los Angeles Times in an interview published Thursday. ‘And by the way, I think it was really hard for her to decide to run.'”If you’re confused by this, just hang in. I’m gonna close the loop here and make it all make sense for you. There’s nobody better at translating these people than I am, so just be patient.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2016/12/23/biden_trashes_hillary_and_democrats/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Biden Trashes Hillary and Democrats

RUSH: And greetings to you, music lovers, thrill-seekers, and conversationalists all across the fruited plain. I am back again here in the saddle at the Excellence in Broadcasting Network. Three hours straight ahead. This is Friday, right? So let’s go.JOHNNY DONOVAN: And now, from sunny South Florida, it’s Open Line Friday!RUSH: Righto. Now, I have it on good authority that you people were really ticked off yesterday. I mean, those of you that called. I got an email: “Man, your callers today are great.” I haven’t — (highly overrated staff interrupts and starts singing Happy Birthday) Oh, yes, that’s right. Here we come. Happy delayed birthday. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. What kind of flavor is that? Looks like orange something or other? All right. Cool. I picked it out. So, yeah, I was 70 years old on — what was it? Tuesday?I don’t even remember. I have to back count to the 12th. Happy Birthday, El Rushbo! And It’s a Big One

RUSH: We’re gonna get to the Ukraine business, it’s gonna be the focus here. That happens to be the soap opera story. Actually, it’s not the soap opera story. This is Putin running rings around us. There’s no question what’s going on here. Vladimir Putin’s reassembling the Soviet Union. And this is something — I’ve got the sound bite — I predicted this back in 2008. And all the smart money in Washington, inside the Beltway — we’ve got these sound bites, too — they’re shocked that Putin is trying to reassemble the Soviet Union. They can’t believe it.Even Lurch — this guy, John Kerry, is shocked that Putin is actually conducting a ground war. Listen to this. Grab number 17. Let’s just get this out of the way ’cause I think it’s hilarious and it is indicative of how just outclassed we are. We’re clueless. This generation of leaders is literally clueless about our enemies. Remember something you were taught early on in this program. The purpose of any military is to kill people and break things. It’s not to advance anybody’s social agenda. It’s not a laboratory for the left’s social ideas or playgrounds. It is to kill people and break things, and the second rule is that the aggressor in any conflict sets the rules. And if they violate an existing rule book, then so be it. The aggressor sets the rules, and right now, Putin is setting the rules.I went back and did some research. In 1979 when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, ’79, ’80, they did it at Christmastime, when we were all distracted. Putin goes into Ukraine, after, by the way, colonizing Georgia. They got Georgia back now. Remember Shalikashvili and South Ossetia? Well, they got Georgia back and they’re marching now. And when did Putin do it? He sent the troops in during the Olympics that he hosted, that NBC televised and the world was watching. And then after that he continued this buildup last night during the Oscars. That is strategy. What it means to me is, in just that regard, if Putin actually made strategic decisions based on the American people being distracted it tells me that Putin believes that American public opinion still matters, in terms of impacting American leadership.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2014/03/03/clueless_american_leaders_shocked_by_putin_s_attempt_to_reassemble_soviet_union/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Clueless American Leaders Shocked by Putin’s Attempt to Reassemble Soviet Union

RUSH: The Weekly Standard has a piece in it that, very, very rarely has this ever happened to me. In fact, I can’t ever remember it happening. I’m sure it has, ’cause it’s been 27 years I’ve been doing this. The headline of this — and it’s not a hit piece. It’s not a criticism. The headline’s gonna mislead you. The headline is: “No, Ted Cruz Did Not Invent the Term ‘Undocumented Democrat.'”Apparently Senator Cruz has been running around, after this spat with Marco Rubio on immigration and amnesty and legalization, Cruz has been using the term “undocumented Democrat” instead of “illegal alien” as a means of demonstrating what the Democrats’ interest in this whole thing is. So, now that you know that, here’s the Weekly Standard story.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2015/12/22/i_ve_been_properly_credited_for_coining_the_term_undocumented_democrats/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: This is Rachel in Brooklyn. I’m glad you called, Rachel. How are you?CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thank you so much for all you’ve done for USA and we appreciate it and all the best to you. I’d like to tell you that I think President Trump has been a prince of a president, the best president the country ever, ever had. He never did anything criminal, never anything at all, and the other side has done all the criminal and illegal stuff, and it is unbelievable that they could get into all the courts illegally, change everything illegally, and he can’t go to court with his lawyers legally. Every door is closed to him. The 75-plus million people that voted for him —RUSH: Rachel, Rachel, wait a minute. I want to follow you. It’s unbelievable they could get into all the courts illegally. Who is “they”?CALLER: The lawyers of the lib Dems trying — not trying, but changing all of what was in place for safe and legal voting. Trump had nobody on his side, not the FBI, not the CIA, not the DOJ, not his AG, not the Supreme Court, not his lawyer Cohen. He was called Nazi and Hitler every other day when he is a gem of a person, a very, very loyal person to this country. A very, very loyal person, and all they did was beat him up. He was impeached. The Russians, Avenatti, everything, every day, but he stood strong. I don’t know how he did it, because it’s not even humanly possible. They were the ones that tried to have this coup year after year after year, story after story. And he withstood it, and he’s shown, and he did more than any other president. I am very proud of him. I will not ever think of what happened yesterday was his fault. There were hundreds and hundreds of thousands of Americans there gathering together because they needed comfort from what happened, and he did win the election —https://live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io/daily/2021/01/07/they-want-to-make-you-denounce-trump-and-the-maga-movement/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

One Wrong Word… They Want to Make You Denounce Trump and the MAGA

RUSH: Hey, folks, it’s great to be back. Really great to be back, and I need to ask you a favor. I need to you to give me a few minutes here just to get my sea legs. This has been a very, very bad couple of weeks for me. I don’t want to get into any more detail about it. Those of you have been through this know exactly what I’m talking about. But it has not been a break in the sense that it hasn’t been restful or relaxing or any kind of what people would call a vacation. But I wanted to get back, and here we are behind the Golden EIB Microphone, the Rush Limbaugh program where every show seems like the most important show, where every caller matters, every caller, people moved to the edge of their chairs to hear what the caller says, and every program reverberates with the truth that the country we are born in is the best.Great to have you with us. Telephone number is 800-282-2882. And I’m sure that numbers of you want to weigh in, and we’ll do our best here to get to as many people on the phones today as possible. If you want to send an email, the address is ElRushbo@eibnet.us.First thing I want to do, folks, I want to go back to audio sound bites. And, by the way, part of getting my sea legs today is I’m gonna be hitting this cough button a lot, not to cough, but to do other bodily things that would sound rude to do on the air. So there’s gonna be a little dead air during the program today. But that’s not a major thing. Nothing to worry about. I just want to prepare you for the fact that that is… (interruption) No, I’m talking about blowing my nose. Don’t go there, Snerdley. I’m just talking about blowing my nose. Not about other stuff.Anyway, the primary — well, it’s hard to say “primary.” So many people want to weigh in on so much today and I don’t really blame you. There’s gonna be an infinite number of emotions and explanations today, and I’m gonna be weighing in myself on all of this. But I want to take you back to October 10th, 2016. This is before the election in 2016. This is before Donald Trump stunned the world in 2016. And the reason I want to play the sound bite for you is that I warned everybody of the very real possibility of what we are living through today. And can I tell you what we’re living through today?https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2021/01/07/i-warned-you-about-what-were-living-through-today/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I Warned You About What We’re Living Through Today

RUSH: Here’s another think piece for you. From the Associated Press out of New York: “Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday proposed cutting the penalty for public possession of a small amount of marijuana, a change in state law that would defuse some criticism of the New York Police Department’s stop-and-frisk policy in minority communities. With three weeks remaining in the legislative session, Cuomo said his bill to reduce the criminal misdemeanor to a violation with a fine up to $100 would save thousands of New Yorkers, disproportionately black and Hispanic youths, from unnecessary arrests and criminal charges.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2012/06/06/defining_deviancy_down_in_new_york/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Defining Deviancy Down in New York

RUSH: Paula in Hartland, Wisconsin, I’m glad you waited. Welcome to the Rush Limbaugh program.CALLER: Rush, so cool to talk to you. Anyway, I’m gonna get right to my point like I was instructed. Rush, I had a thought doing some reading this morning. I understand that Harry Reid and some Democratic senators are gonna try to push through some changes in the filibuster rules. And as I got thinking about it, I said, ‘Man, I hope I can get Rush today because I need his input on this,’ and I’m thinking, ‘Well, the House is now Republican so it’s really not gonna matter as far as legislation goes,’ but I’m thinking, ‘The Senate does all the judicial and federal nominations, approves them,’ and I’m thinking that since Obama’s agenda is really going nowhere legislatively, that the Democrats are looking at this as a way to load the courts with as radical judges as they can to try to keep their agenda moving forward.RUSH: Well, now —CALLER: What do you think?RUSH: — you know, you are incredibly shrewd, and I mean this. You are incredibly shrewd. I just want to bring one small correction. Their desire to get rid of the filibuster in the Senate goes beyond judicial nominations. They really want to get rid of it. They’ve lost and the filibuster is now an obstacle. So of course, ‘It’s outdated, it’s outmoded, it’s a fetish, and we have to get rid of it. We’ve gotta get rid of this requirement that says we have to have 60 votes to get anything done. That’s just antiquated.’ It held them back. So they’re serious about it in terms of legislation. But the way this breaks down legally is quite fascinating, and a lot of people are calling Republicans hypocrites for opposing the change in filibuster rule, and the reason…https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2011/01/05/senate_dems_target_filibuster_rule/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: This is Keith in Atlanta. It’s great to have you, Keith. How are you doing, sir?CALLER: I’m great, Rush. Thanks for taking my call.RUSH: You bet.CALLER: I’ve been a listener since the early nineties and I’ve always been a fan of your nicknames. I think you and Trump have a unique talent for that. And one that I’ve always gotten a chuckle out of that I almost feel like it’s a private joke because I’m not sure that everybody gets it, is Dingy Harry. I’m pretty sure I know the origins of it, and I was wondering if you’d indulge me.RUSH: Sure. Harry Reid to me was dirty. This is a guy lying about Mitt Romney not paying his taxes. This is the guy who tried to get me censured and apologized for, for claiming I was opposed to the U.S. military by creating a phony soldier. And, by the way, we raised $4 million off of the letter he wrote. The guy that was running Clear Channel at the time was Mark Mays. The tune is called Pat-a-Pan. I’ll tell you, you cannot go wrong if Christmas music is part of your holiday evening, late afternoon. Everybody has their standards and favorites. Mannheim Steamroller, it’s all instrumental. I have a bit of an emotional attachment to it. It happened to be some of the first Christmas music I, by happenstance, happened to be listening to upon learning of the death of my father. I’ve had this emotional connection. It was on an airplane, 40,000 feet, looking out the window. I thought I was looking at heaven. You know, there’s a story. I don’t know where it comes from. It was about the football game last night. Apparently… Who played? Did the Fort’inters play last night? It was Thursday Night Football. (interruption) Brian, who’d the Fort’inters play last night?Do you remember who it was? (interruption) Who won? Who won the game? (interruption) Are you kidding? The Fort’inters wiped the Raiders off the map? (interruption) It was 34-3! I wonder if Jon Gruden is regretting going back to the NFL. Probably not since the Raiders are gonna be in Vegas next year. Anyway, that’s not the story of the game. How many…? McCaskill, Manchin and Dems Running Scared

RUSH: Last Thursday night TNT Inside the NBA, they’re talking about the impact of COVID-19, the pandemic, on the NBA season. And here’s what Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith had to say about it.BARKLEY: Three hundred million shots. Give a thousand to some NBA players, NFL players, hockey players. Listen, as much taxes as these players paid — let me repeat that — as much taxes as these players paid, they deserve some preferential treatment.SMITH: For life and death?BARKLEY: Yes.SMITH: The amount of money you make doesn’t —BARKLEY: No, no. I said taxes.SMITH: The amount of money you make —BARKLEY: I didn’t say the amount of money you make.SMITH: But that’s on taxes.BARKLEY: No, no, no. I’m saying the amount of taxes these guys pay.SMITH: We can’t go there. I don’t think you could go there.RUSH: You can’t go there but Chuck went there, Kenny. Chuck went there. Chuck said that these athletes are paying so much in taxes, they need to be given the vaccine first, that they are deserving of it, they are deserving of preferential treatment ’cause of the taxes they pay. RUSH: Okay, now you people know, you are well aware one of the reasons you listen is I know liberals. I know them. I know them like every square inch of my gloriously naked body. Dealing with liberals is like dealing with a one-armed lunatic. They’re just gonna keep swinging. They’re gonna keep fighting no matter what you do. They never go away. And I know what they’re gonna do and why they’re gonna do it before they do it, and people marvel at this. We have an opportunity now because of the utterance of Elizabeth Warren, she’s running against Scott Brown for the United States Senate in Massachusetts. The 2nd Impeachment: Trump’s Popularity Still Scares Them to Death

RUSH: We had a call and the caller chickened out, the caller hung up, the caller did not have the guts to ask the question directly. I get a one-line advisory about whatever the caller wants to talk about, and this guy wanted to know how can you square pollution with global warming or something. Snerdley said he said, ‘Well look, big fan of yours, listens to you all the time –‘ of course; who doesn’t? ‘– he’s got a problem with your stand on global warming. He lives in Boston. Since the 1900s –‘ how many cars did he say? Okay, 400% increase in what period of time? Not that it matters, but okay, ‘400% increase in the number of cars since the early 1900s,’ I think it would be more than that, but regardless. RUSH: It took five minutes. Five minutes. It only took five minutes before the Democrat Party politicized the tornado in Oklahoma. They politicize everything, folks. They rub their hands together in glee when there is a natural disaster that they think they can spin in such a way as to advance their political agenda. If any of you doubt that global warming is a political issue and not a science issue, then you must open your mind and consider why in the world, ask yourself, why in the world, five minutes after the news hits of this horrible destruction, a Democrat senator, Sheldon Whitehouse, runs out and starts talking about global warming and blaming the tornado on global warming.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2013/05/21/it_only_took_five_minutes_for_democrats_to_politicize_the_oklahoma_tornado/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: Hey, guess what, we got Senator Dole on the phone, Senator Dole is back on the road. He's. Are you in Houston, Senator Dole? Dole: Just landed in Houston and I have Governor Bush and President Bush in the car with me here. RUSH: Well, terrific. We're sorry we missed you on Friday, but you're going all out and I'm telling you, Senator, there's optimism out there. I'm sure you see it and know it, but it doesn't hurt for you to to be told from independent sources. Dole: No, we really - you know, it feels good. We're not obviously if you believe polls we're still a little bit behind, but there's a lot of enthusiasm. We feel good about it. We think, you know, we've been on the road 75 straight hours. We've got 21 to go. The crowds are big, enthusiastic. They want this guy out of there. RUSH: That's absolutely that's absolutely right. How are you holding up? Dole: Holding up very well, we got my - I'm little hoarse, but otherwise in good shape. We get a little catnaps on the airplane and we've got about four or five stops to go and it'll be noon tomorrow and I'll vote in Russell, Kansas, and then we'll head back to Washington, D.C. to watch the victory return. RUSH: Senator Dole, I got to I've got to run this by you because I know if you haven't heard it, it's just going to amuse you. But in the political hotline today, there's a story running around that after the election, should the president somehow manage to eke this out, that he's going to ask you to head up the Medicare reform bipartisan blue ribbon committee? And you know, there's there's all this. The president's going to hire a bunch of Republicans to replace retiring cabinet officers and write your names out there is setting up the Medicare bipartisan. Would you care to decline or accept that offer now? Dole: I'm glad I would decline an offer of over the strong feeling as far as senior citizens. But after he has distorted the truth and the facts about Medicare, I wouldn't feel comfortable serving that position. And we're going to win. So maybe he'll chair the commission.   Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Senator Bob Dole Calls into the Show the Day before the Election

RUSH: Once again, Mr. Vice President, it’s a thrill and an honor to have you with us, sir.VICE PRESIDENT RICHARD B. CHENEY: Well, good afternoon, Rush.RUSH: All right. First thing. We just had a call that leads me into my first question for you about the economy. The caller was frustrated that the party at large doesn’t seem to be getting the news out about how good the economy is, and indeed the economic statistics are fabulous — unemployment, middle-class wage growth, Dow Jones Industrial Average flirting with 12,000 — and yet we’re told that people don’t “feel” this economy is good. Why do you think that is, if it’s true, and how do you all plan to use the economy in the next three weeks of the campaign?THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, I think first of all you’re absolutely right, Rush. The economy is very good. I’ve been involved with a lot of campaigns going back nearly 40 years, and I’m hard put to find a time when things were as good as they are now for the party from our perspective, and you’ve cited all the data. We’ve got over 6.6 million jobs we’ve added in a little over three years now. Home ownership is at an all-time record high. The stock market is at a high. RUSH: Grab audio sound bite number three. The TNT network does television coverage of the NBA. Now, we all know what’s happened to late-night comedy. It doesn’t exist anymore. There isn’t any. Late-night comedy has become left-wing agenda-driven anger and hate. Rather than looking for laughs from their audiences, late-night comics and stand-up comics are seeking applause for when they themselves endeavor to start getting into the hate game. The hatred of Donald Trump, the hatred of Republicans, the hatred of conservatives. Well, this has left a void. There isn’t any humor? There isn’t any professional humor. I think it’s an amazing thing (chuckling) what Donald Trump has done. RUSH: Ronald Brownstein (former Los Angeles Times and now with the National Journal; that’s the Hotline crew) with a long story entitled, ‘White Flight — President Obama’s path to a second term may rely on states shaped by the same social forces he embodies,’ and what this story does quite graphically is illustrate that our man-child president of color not only has failed to bring us together, he has driven us further apart by race — and, more specifically, in the Democrat Party. It is white Democrats and white independents who have fled Obama and the Democrat Party. This story details how Obama has lost almost all of his white support. RUSH: The police chief in Chicago is furious. The police superintendent, Eddie Johnson, who announced these charges against Smollett in the first place. Leftist Privilege Saves Jussie Smollett

RUSH: Okay. The Jussie Smollett (or Smollett, however he pronounces it) case. When this whole thing happened, you’ll notice (if you are a regular, careful listener) that I didn’t go to there. To me, there was something that didn’t look right or smell right. And when I saw all of these Hollywood people immediately jump on this thing and start claiming that it was a bunch of deranged Trump people attacking a poor black guy in Chicago, I said, “Waaaaaait a minute. It’s just too pat.”So, I waited, and it turns out now that ABC 7 WLS TV Chicago is reporting it’s a hoax, that two guys pretended to beat up Smollett and that they’re bit players, actors, on the show Empire. They’re Nigerian. They left town the day after the attack. They’ve come back. The cops have identified them. The cops have raided their apartment. The cops have their cell phones and their computers. Why I Haven’t Mentioned Jussie Smollett Until Now

RUSH: Now, I mentioned at the beginning of the program that it’s normally at Christmastime that I get all sentimental and thankful about the wonderful things that have happened to me because of you and that have accrued to me and my family because of you. And I don’t know why Christmastime as opposed to Thanksgiving, but I thought I would switch it up this year and reiterate these things that I try to share with you each and every year at Christmastime or during this holiday-type season. Thank You for One of the Greatest Lives Anyone Could Have

So the real story of Thanksgiving. It is a tradition on this program. And this is the time of year, to me, the holiday season begins and I think to most people. This time of year I just become overwhelmed with so many emotions, memories. And the way I'm built, most of my memories are positive. I think, in my case, when I think of nostalgia or the past, the things that automatically occur to me are pleasant ones. It takes me to The True Story of Thanksgiving. It was written about in chapter 6 of See, I Told You So, book two. It's in a chapter titled, Dead White Guys or What the History Books Never Tell You. And this chapter, by the way, served as the foundation for the first book in the Rush Revere series, Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims. Where, in addition to the true story of Thanksgiving, we have the true story of the Pilgrims, who they were, where they came from, why they came, what happened when they got here, what they had to do to fix what went wrong when they got here, and what role the Pilgrims play in the overall founding of America. The True Story of Thanksgiving

RUSH: Douglas Brinkley is a Frank Luntz kind of guy. He’s a pollster, he’s a presidential historian, he’s at Rice University, and he was on CNN Saturday as the Drive-By Media continues to discuss what Trump is going to do when he leaves the White House. For example, here’s a Politico headline: “Trump Threatens to Wreak Havoc on GOP From Beyond the White House — His attacks on Republican governors since his loss offer a sample of what’s in store. President Donald Trump has spent the three weeks since he lost the election…” This is Politico, not me. Hang on.“…since he [allegedly] lost the election savaging a pair of GOP governors for not backing his claims he was robbed. Republicans are worried it’s just the start of what’s in store from the soon-to-be-former president,” that he’s gonna throw Republicans under the bus. Look, I do not want to be misunderstood here. RUSH: The Pfizer vaccine, 95% effective. They plan to submit this to the FDA in days, according to CNBC. You know what this is? This is the blockbuster result of Trump’s Operation Warp Speed in real time. But you know what had to happen for this to happen? RUSH: Scott, Jacksonville, Florida. Great to have you on the program, sir. What’s up. CALLER: iPhone X mega dittos. Conservatives like myself, Rush, I mean, we voted for Republicans hoping to roll back all this government spending. And now I hear today that Congress, the Senate and the House, they’ve come to this agreement, everybody’s happy, and listen, I’m a Navy veteran. I’m glad for more military spending, but this is gonna add $300 billion to the deficit, so my question, Rush, is how do we as conservatives kind of justify this? RUSH: You know, it’s a great question, and I was communicating with some friends before the program today on this, and I was telling them — I probably should not admit this, because it changes for me day to day. But I have to tell you, this whole budget thing, I think I’m immune to it now. I realized I’ve been caught up in this budget business for as long as I’ve been hosting this program, and I realized a couple things. https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2018/02/08/im-immune-to-this-budget-business/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I’m Immune to This Budget Business

RUSH: Over the course of many recent months, I have made the point that one of the objectives of the modern American left is to transform America away from its intentions and its designs as founded. And in many ways, this was one of the agenda objectives of the Obama administration, although to do it in a stealth way. Obama couldn’t come out and say it beyond that his policies were “transformative.” He couldn’t define what that meant. There would have been a revolt — and he wouldn’t have been elected if he’d been honest about what transforming America meant. So what he claimed it meant was taking on issues like climate change and health care for everybody and all this, transform America. But what they really want to do is transform America away from our unique founding, convert it to a socialist democracy.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2018/10/05/its-undeniable-the-left-targets-white-men/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It’s Undeniable! The Left Targets White Men

RUSH: I just watched the video of Betsy DeVos trying to go into a public school in Washington, DC, and she’s met by a handful, 10 or 12 left-wing reprobates, a white guy wearing Black Lives Matter sweatshirt. She was nearly violently restricted from going up the steps and into the school. And then she and her, it looked like a security guard — well, an assistant, she was hustled back to her vehicle, which was a Suburban, an SUV, and this mob followed her back. They get in the car peacefully but then this guy tried to obstruct the car leaving, and he was just shouting insanely, “Shame, shame, shame.”I mean, folks, this is not time-honored and wonderful and great American dissent. It’s human debris who have had their minds polluted and poisoned by the American left from the education system, to media, to pop culture. They’re just sick. Here’s a great example. Do any of you people know who Trevor Noah is? Do you know who Trevor Noah is? Wendy, do you know who Trevor Noah is? Brian, do you know who Trevor Noah is? Well, do you know who Jon Stewart was? Wendy, do you know who Jon Stewart was? Gosh, she doesn’t know. Betsy DeVos Is the Opposite of the Ignorant Liberal Cliche

RUSH: As I predicted, as I warned you all yesterday, gun control has become the central theme of the Drive-By Media after the tragedy here, the massacre at Virginia Tech. By the way, speaking of something that we were just talking about, this guy was sending out clear warning signs that he was not right, and nobody would do anything about it on the campus. I mean, they sent him to counseling. They don’t know how that went. He might have been taking anti-depressants. We don’t know what the effect of that was. He went to some institution for a while. We don’t know how that went. We also have just learned that the guy’s writings, which we did know about, but what we just learned is that the guy’s writings were so scary that there were people that refused to go to his class. They refused to actually go in the classroom when this guy was there. So there clearly were all kinds of warning signs about this that were not heeded in a serious way. As I say, it’s very easy to start running around saying, ‘Well, ban guns! It’s the GOP’s fault. It’s Bush’s fault! Get rid of the NRA,’ rather than actually deal with what circumstances people had known for years prior to this guy committing this random act.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2007/04/18/ban_political_correctness/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Because it does show an abuse of power, and somebody is actually able to harness that or show, you know, the abuse of power there, and kind of turn it around and do something good with it. I want to thank you for that — and, two, I just want to let you know that I’m shipping off to basic training in a few days, and you’re one of my inspirations. You kind of helped me to realize there’s a — I don’t want to say there’s more in life, but answer the calling. I want to say you’ve done a great job for the troops over the years, and I think you’re a great American.RUSH: Well, thank you very much.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2007/10/19/god_bless_the_u_s_military/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: The 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall is going on right now. It’s dark over there in Germany. I have a story here from the State-Controlled Associated Press: ‘Merkel Thanks Gorbachev on Berlin Wall Anniversary.’ Now, let’s be clear about something. ‘Barack Hussein Obama. Mmm, mmm, mmm!’ was invited to go and said (imitating Obama) ‘Mmm, mmm, mmm, ain’t going! Got to bowl, gotta play golf, got a concert in the House, got a date night, gotta celebrate health care. I ain’t going. I don’t believe in freedom, anyway. That wall, we communists, we don’t celebrate our failures. Let Gorbachev handle it. Besides, I don’t want to go over there and be upstaged by Ronald Reagan.’ I have not found any reporting yet — I’m not saying she didn’t do it, but I’ve not found any reporting yet that says Merkel mentions Reagan. Now, she did back on November 4th in a speech. She said, ‘Ronald Reagan far earlier than others saw and recognized the sign of the times when standing at the Brandenburg Gate in ’87. He said, ‘Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate, tear down this wall.’ This appeal to something that never will be forgotten,’ Merkel said. This appeal? So Gorbachev is over there and by the way, he’s out there making news. He’s now comparing the climate change effort here, militant environmentalism has now replaced the Cold War. And nations have to come together to solve that problem.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2009/11/09/reagan_knocked_down_that_wall/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Reagan Knocked Down That Wall

RUSH: The global warming crew, this is so classic. I just love it. They’re going down to Antarctica — the South Pole, for those of you in Rio Linda — and they’re gonna prove that there’s so much global warming that there isn’t any ice, or very little ice, that it’s melting. It’s a cruise. And they get stuck in the ice far, far away from their intended destination. So icebreakers are called in. The icebreakers get stuck! There was a ChiCom icebreaker that got stuck. They needed all these fossil fuel, gigantic ships to rescue them after a week. And every news story — every one of them! Let me put it this way: Not one news story makes the connection that these are a bunch of hypocrites. Not one notes the irony. They just talk about a brave bunch of scientists needed to be rescued in Antarctica. Meanwhile, we have more record lows last year than record highs — and in Green Bay for football this Sunday? Oh-ho!https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2014/01/02/global_warming_cruise_gets_stuck_in_ice_green_bay_freezes_over_and_aaron_rodgers_says_he_isn_t_gay/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: This is John in Stephanie, Connecticut. Great to have you with us. Hi.CALLER: Hey, Rush, it’s Bethany, Connecticut, not Stephanie, Connecticut.RUSH: What is it?CALLER: Bethany.RUSH: Bethany. Okay. Mr. Snerdley misheard you. I’d never heard of Stephanie, Connecticut, either.CALLER: Yeah, me neither. Well, it’s probably I got a crappy phone, but… My point is why isn’t the simple answer for everyone who wants to talk about Russian interference in the 2016 election, the simple answer should be, “Ask Obama. He was the president. He was in charge. It was his power that had the last say in everything.” Why doesn’t anyone ever want to blame him, and why isn’t that the simple solution for every conservative’s blanket answer?RUSH: Well, you know, you’re getting ahead of something that I intend to come up anyway here, so let me get started on the transition. I want to go back, if you remember not long ago I played a sound bite from Michael Mukasey, former Judge Mukasey. He was attorney general for a while under George W. RUSH: There’s a former congressman from Virginia. His name is Jim Moran, and he’s a locoweed. Did you hear what he said about Northam? He said Northam has been “ambushed by a yearbook photo.” Ambushed by a yearbook photo! I think the story going around is that somebody who was just repulsed and appalled… Somebody who went to med school with Northam was appalled at what he had had to say about late-term abortion, day-of-birth abortion, postbirth abortion, and leaked all of this blackface photo and yearbook stuff.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2019/02/04/ralph-northam-exposed-the-pro-death-democrats/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: We’re gonna start with Ann in Louisville. Ann, great to have you on the program. Hi.CALLER: Thank you, Mr. Limbaugh. You are wonderful, and you are my daily tutor.RUSH: Well, thank you.CALLER: I do thank you for what you do for our country. I called to tell you that on April 19th I attended a Tea Party rally in Louisville. I estimate, guess, that there were somewhere between 350, 450 people there. Rows were 32 chairs across, about 20 rows deep, probably three or four rows unoccupied so —https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2012/05/08/the_tea_party_is_out_there_working/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: Back to Charlottesville, Virginia. Shelley, it’s great to have you on the program. Hello.CALLER: Hi, Rush!RUSH: Hey!CALLER: Yeah. Shelley from Charlottesville, Virginia. I’m just wondering, Rush. I’ve been around for, oh, about five or six decades. I’ve seen a lot of politics either way, gone through a lot of presidents. I’m Republican, but I’ve had a lot of Democratic friends. Where do these crazy, super mental cases come from? I mean, it’s like they just came out of the woodwork one day and all of a sudden, all this crazy stuff starts happening. When did that happen, and where did they come from?RUSH: Well, I’m actually glad you called out there, Shelley, because I myself had this reaction that you’re having within three months of Obama being inaugurated. All through the Bush years, I mean, we saw radical leftists out there, the anti-war people. But it was primarily in the media. I mean, during the Bush years, we had George W. Bush elected twice. John Kerry was a joke running in 2004, never really seriously a contender. Our problems then were that Bush was not reacting to the media — the destruction, his attempts to sabotage his regime and the wars and all this.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2019/07/17/prince-charles-issues-dire-climate-warning-again/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: Yeah, it looks like it’s exactly what we predicted it would be. In Virginia the GOP simply didn’t want a Tea Party candidate winning there. They just didn’t. ‘Cause they coulda won that race, folks. I mean, it’s really a shame. I was gonna say stunning, but it really isn’t stunning.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2013/11/06/election_review_the_establishment_in_both_parties_want_a_repudiation_of_the_tea_party/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It’s so cute!RUSH: (chuckling) That’s incredible. This is the first I’ve heard of something like this. Six years old. 6-Year-Old Wants to be Rush Revere for Halloween

RUSH: Last night on the Senate floor, New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez.MENENDEZ: It is our solemn duty to put aside our ideology, to turn off Rush Limbaugh and leave politics in the cloakroom. Our vote on this groundbreaking legislation, comparable to Social Security and Medicare —RUSH: Stop it, that’s all we need to hear from the guy, he’s just a buffoon, but here we are, they’re rolling, they’re on track now for their Christmas Eve at nine p.m. vote and still Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey has to tell the Republicans, stop listening to me, stop being ideological, which is all the Democrats are being here, pure 100% ideology. I got an e-mail note from a friend today, ‘Is it hopeless? Is it over? What do we do? I’d like to go out and raise some money but everybody is tapped out.’ I said raising money is not what’s necessary right now. We have had two rallies in Washington. It’s obvious that members of the Democrat Party in both the House and Senate don’t care one way or another about what the public opinion of this is. That’s been obvious for a long time. I still think, folks, what you ought to do is just pound these people with e-mails, phone calls, faxes, whatever, pound every damn one of them at their offices from now until hell freezes over, before, during, and after all of this, just keep pounding them. It’ll make you feel better, and who knows, it may have some effect at some point down the road.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2009/12/22/don_t_be_polite_or_non_ideological_fight_this_un_american_legislation3/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: Okay, the story is that I’m “out of control.” That’s in the Drive-By Media. The fact is that they’ve devolved into what is an out-of-control, hysterical mob. Here’s what’s really happening with all this, ladies and gentlemen. The Drive-By Media in concert with the Democrat Party are now defending what is a false attack ad against Republican candidates. The Michael J. Fox ad is false. They are defending that ad. They are defending experiments on embryos. They are lying about candidates. They are lying about science. They are the campaign ad production team for the Democrats now. They may as well be, the Drive-By Media, and let me back this up. https://admin.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/10/26/drive_by_media_carries_democrat_water_lies_about_anyone_who_gets_in_their_way/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

And I’ll tell you what this Chinese stuff, folks, let me tell you, this Chinese stuff is a teachable moment for a lot of reasons.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2019/10/08/a-teachable-moment-the-nba-sucks-up-to-the-chicoms/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A Teachable Moment: The NBA Sucks Up to the ChiComs

RUSH: Now, President Trump has tweeted two things last night around 9:20. “Next week,” he says, “ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States. They will be removed as fast as they come in. Mexico, using their strong immigration laws, is doing a very good job of stopping people” at their southern border “long before they get to our Southern Border.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2019/06/18/trump-promises-new-illegal-immigration-crackdown/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The President Promises a New Illegal Immigration Crackdown

RUSH: Okay. So, in the brief break, the brief segment we have, let me review here. “Coronavirus is not a major threat for the people in the United States and this is not something the citizens should be worried about,” Dr. Fauci, January 21st. He later said, “The American people…” Five days later, January 26: “The American people should not be worried or frightened by coronavirus. How Does Dr. Fauci Get Away With It?

RUSH: Folks, there’s an overriding problem here. I’ve talked about it a number of times over the course of many, many broadcasts on the EIB Network. And every time I bring it up there’s a little inner voice, “Rush, don’t make too big a deal about this because this is something that every adult generation has thought or has felt when they look at the worthless and useless younger generations.” I’m just kidding. And then there’s another voice says, “No, Rush, this is worse than the normal pattern. What I’m talking about is the degree of maleducation.” LeBron James is a classic example of just sheer uneducation inside a body and mind who thinks he’s a genius. He doesn’t know diddly-squat.Most of the people on the left who are out there espousing communism, supporting communism, defending communism have simply been poisoned. They’ve not been properly educated. And it’s a problem. When Thomas Jefferson becomes a bigger problem in America than Hugo Chavez was in Venezuela, we’ve got a problem. That has not been something that every generation assumed growing up in America, but there are young people today who believe that Thomas Jefferson is a scourge on the United States, and we need leaders more like Hugo Chavez or Fidel Castro or, you name it.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2019/10/15/weve-maleducated-young-americans-like-lebron-on-communisms-evil/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: Steve in Orlando, you’re first. It’s great to have you with us, and welcome.CALLER: Letter carrier dittos from Florida, Rush.RUSH: Thank you, sir.CALLER: I just want to say I admire you, and although I’m a little upset with you right now, I do love you. I’m one of those people who I’m going to protest, I’m not going to be voting, and let me give you some reasons why I’m not going to be voting. They’ve been in power for 12 years. We have a border situation, we have 30 million illegal aliens in this country, and they are not doing a thing about it. The Dems take it to us on everything, education, the judges, look what they’ve done to Katherine Harris. They basically have thrown her under the bus over here in Florida. I’m of the opinion that when you go to a restaurant and you get really, really bad service, I mean just abysmal service, you don’t tip them. And the Republicans basically right now have not —RUSH: Let me ask you something. If you go to Cracker Barrel and have something to eat and you don’t like it, do you say, “Screw you! I’m never coming back here,” and you go to a place that will serve you poison?CALLER: (Laughing.) I’m trying to see what your point is there. If I got really bad service, that’s one thing. You get a bad meal every now and then no matter where you go.RUSH: You started with immigration. RUSH: Wait ’til you hear. This 35-page “dossier” — that’s another thing. You notice the media yesterday calling this document that they claimed that Trump had — did you hear what this was, Wendy? You didn’t hear what they accused Trump of? Basically, they said Trump hired prostitutes to come urinate on a bed at the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow because Barack and Michelle had slept on the bed. That was one of the allegations, and it turns out the Democrat Party is behind this. A donor and a strategist for Planned Parenthood wrote the dossier, a guy who has worked for Planned Parenthood. Do not ever doubt me when I tell you that everything in opposition to Trump is gonna have its roots in the Democrat Party, to one of their think tanks, to one of their groups, to one of their institutions, to Hillary and Bill Clinton. It’s inescapable. The guy that wrote this dossier — that’s another thing, you call the report a dossier, a “dossier.”https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2017/01/12/planned-parenthood-strategist-wrote-the-dirty-trump-dossier/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Planned Parenthood Strategist Wrote the Dirty Trump “Dossier”

RUSH: You know what’s funny to watch? What’s funny to watch is the Drive-Bys trying to portray Colin Powell and his hacked emails as devastating to Trump. It’s… Folks, this is hilarious! They’re doing everything they can to ignore the negative things Colin Powell said about — and, by the way, this is gonna change the day for Colin Powell. Colin Powell is not thought to speak this way. People don’t think that Colin Powell even thinks this way.Colin Powell is not a “partisan.” He doesn’t say mean things about people except the people who deserve to have mean things said about them, like me. But, other than that, he doesn’t criticize establishment types. And look what’s in these emails. My God, we could make at least two T-shirts with nothing but Colin Powell quotes on the front! In fact, that may be an idea. They’ve been trying to push the idea that Powell won’t be voting for Trump because Powell called Trump “a national disgrace.”Ha! Words of Wisdom from General Powell

RUSH: The Steve Bannon interview… I’ve been getting emails all day from people who want my take on this, so I’m gonna go ahead and get into this now. I got to tell you again up front, I don’t know the guy. I haven’t even…He’s been in a room twice when I have been with the president, but I’ve never been formally introduced even, and I’ve never spoken directly to him. So none of this is, to me, based on any personal knowledge I have of Bannon or the arrangement that Trump and Bannon have. All I can do is speculate hire, which I’ll be happy to do. Now, the reason that Washington’s in a tizzy today is because Bannon called Robert Kuttner at The American Prospect for an exclusive interview. This would be like Reagan calling Pravda.Unreal, of all the people Bannon could call, he calls Kuttner at The American Prospect. He calls somebody that hates Trump as much as anybody hates Trump, and it was not off the record. He wanted it known. Whatever was in this interview, Bannon wants out there, and it’s out there. I watched Karl Rove react to it today and he was beside himself. He just could not believe any of this. He couldn’t believe any aspect of it, thought it was the craziest, strangest, oddest, dumbest thing he’s ever seen from any administration.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2017/08/17/what-you-need-to-know-to-understand-all-this-bannon-business/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What You Need to Know to Understand All This Bannon Business

RUSH: Snerdley and I were talking about the North Koreans and their test. There is going to be a sanctions vote tomorrow, and once again, ladies and gentlemen, we have been shafted by the Russians and the Chinese. The vote on sanctions is tomorrow, and Fox had a little breaking news story this morning saying that an arms embargo will not be added to UN resolutions. There will be no ban on where the NorComs can fly in the resolution. I mean this is really watered down stuff, to be voted on tomorrow morning. Now, all of this is supposed to deter North Korea? All of this is supposed to deter Iran? Make no mistake about something on this: The Iranians are watching all this very carefully, just as they were watching the Israeli-Hezbollah war. (They probably started that one just to check everybody’s resolve.) I did an interview with Joel Rosenberg earlier this week for an upcoming issue of the Limbaugh Letter, and Joel, I mean he’s convinced that the ChiComs and the NorComs have an alliance, but he really believes that the North Korea thing is something being sponsored by Iran to test everybody in the world’s reaction to it, just to see if we have the will anymore to stop rogue regimes like this from acquiring nuclear weapons.https://rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/10/13/iran_watches_us_deal_with_north_korea/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

RUSH: The people at MSNBC are unhinged. It seems like MSNBC both yesterday and today was playing my Today Show interview in toto: 11 minutes yesterday, 12 minutes today, which is an eternity in television. And the people at MSNBC are unhinged and upset that their network is running that interview and eating up their airtime. And I would like you to talk about Christopher Columbus.RUSH: Well, I have a stack of Christopher Columbus stuff here.CALLER: Oh, great. Great.RUSH: It’s not what you’re gonna want to hear.CALLER: Maybe. (chuckles) I think he was a great, courageous visionary. I think he’s a great role model for today’s youth. He was an entrepreneur. If he didn’t come here, if he didn’t bump into America, who knows how the world would be different, but it would definitely be different.RUSH: I know. We wouldn’t have cigars.CALLER: (laughing) That’s right we wouldn’t have all this great food. We wouldn’t have freedom, because he really laid the foundation for that here. And I’m so frustrated when I hear only the bad things about him and all the garbage that they taught in the schools about him, and so I’d like to ask everybody to put their flag out today and maybe make a good dinner for their family and celebrate Columbus Day.RUSH: All right.CALLER: Thank you.RUSH: You bet. I’m glad you called. From the Rasmussen Reports Web page: ‘Twenty-four percent of Americans believe we should not honor Columbus with a national holiday.’ This is the result of government and multicultural education winning. From, let’s see, where’s this from? The Washington Post. Boyce Rensberger, November 1, 1992. We went back to the archives. This is, what, seventeen…? Man, oh, man that’s seventeen years ago. ‘The chief rival position — called the Columbian theory — argues that there was no syphilis in Europe until Columbus took it there. Advocates of this view agree that ‘leprosy’ was a mixture of true leprosy with other sexually transmitted diseases, but that none of them was syphilis. More likely, they argue, the other disease was gonorrhea,’ which my health teacher in junior high be pronounced gong-gorrhea. ‘Question: Did Syphilis Sail to Europe With Columbus and Crew?’ And they’ve been debating this.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2009/10/12/columbus_day_under_assault/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Columbus Day Under Assault

RUSH: Here is the path, by the way, to October 8th. The Path to October 8th is the sequel to The Path to 9/11. The Path to October 8th — of course that’s when Kim Jong ll tests his little nuke. 1993: North Korea shocks the world by saying it will quit the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and then layered suspends its withdrawal. 1994: North Korea and the United States sign an agreement in Geneva, North Korea pledging to freeze and eventually dismantle its nuclear weapons program in exchange for help building two power producing nuclear reactors. That was the sucker deal made with Madeleine Albright — Jimmy Carter did some advance work — and with the Clinton administration. So it was 1994, Clinton’s second year in office that North Korea ran the sucker deal to perfection against the United States. https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/10/09/the_path_to_october_8th_timeline/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Path To October 8th: Timeline

RUSH: Julie in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, welcome to the EIB Network. Great to have you with us.CALLER: Hello. How are you? RUSH: Fine. Thank you.CALLER: I just wanted to tell you a funny story. I’ve listened to you since 2000, and in 2004 I decided to go back to college after being out of high school for ten years, much because of what I’ve heard on your show about how you can do anything. You should do anything; you should not be okay with mediocre, et cetera, et cetera. You are the only one that’s ever put that idea in my head.RUSH: Is that right? Your whole life?CALLER: Yeah. (laughs) Yeah, it’s been that kind of life. But yes, that’s correct, and it was drilled in my head over and over again from listening to your show, you know, “Go out and do it. Just do it. You know, make something better of yourself. You have opportunity.” So I went back to school in 2004 and I had a professor who had a master’s and was working on his second master’s who was so book smart, you know, thought he knew everything, and he would bring up arguments in class over the economy, amendments, laws, different things — and I’m telling you what, the only thing I’d done since high school was work, and then I started listening to your show. I could go toe to toe with that guy and argue with him about anything, and make him look stupid in front of the class just by listening to your show. (Laughing)RUSH: Did he know that he looked stupid or did he give you problems? EIB Network Helps Julie Live Her Dream

RUSH: I have to admit, my friends, I’m a little confused about certain aspects of the situation here involving Mark Foley and the page. Now, the school system, the public school system has since the late eighties been teaching us that kids are going to have sex, we can’t stop ’em, it’s not our business to stop ’em. I mean, we’ve gone so far as teaching them to use condoms with bananas, or in some cases peanuts, cucumbers, but peanuts, too. You have to give them all life possibilities out there. And we had parents out on Long Island who are inviting their kids to have their boyfriend or girlfriend spend the night at the house because it would be cleaner and safer than if they were conjugating in the back seat of the family sedan. They went so far as to say we might even put a pack of cigarettes on the nightstand so that you can have a smoke after you have sex. Now I realize that that’s sex among teenagers, but the public education sex ed. program does not say that it’s wrong. You start talking abstinence to them, and they go nuts. Yeah, easy for you to say. We can’t stop these kids, so we gave ’em condoms to encourage the risky behavior. Now, the liberals also tell us that sex and gender issues are just lifestyles, not choices. Maybe choices in the case of sex changes like the chopadickoffame and the adadictomy, but these are just lifestyle things, gender and so forth, we’re not to condemn. Any two people can love each other, any four people can love each other. You can define your family however you want, including your animal or animals. This we have been taught by the tolerant left among us. Kids can have sex, too. Not with somebody just in their age-group, alternative lifestyles, but not if the person is sexually active but younger, apparently. So we find here that there are limits. There are things that will offend liberals. Or are there? Because I continue to ask, are they really offended by this? How many of them wish they were in on the action?https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/10/02/are_liberals_truly_offended_by_foley4/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Are Liberals Truly Offended by Foley?

RUSH: I’d like to welcome to the program Jim Geraghty from National Review Online. He has a blog called The Kerry Spot, TKS. It’s just a brilliant body of work. During the campaign of 2004 it was cited often by me — not stolen by me, but cited often by me — on this program. Jim has a book out called Voting to Kill. It’s been out since September 19th. He went out and interviewed a number of Americans about the issues on their minds as the midterm elections come up in November. Jim, welcome, it’s great to have you with us.GERAGHTY: Rush, some very long-awaited mega dittos. Thanks so much for having me on.RUSH: You bet. Jim, I’m going to start off by telling you a little story — and let me ask. I don’t want to be wrong in my presumption, but the focal point of the book is that the people you’ve talked to do take seriously the threat posed by terrorists around the world — whatever you want to call them, Islamofascists. The war on terror, it’s a serious thing to them, correct?https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/10/02/jim_geraghty_on_voting_to_kill/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jim Geraghty on “Voting to Kill”

RUSH: Rich in San Marcos, California. You’re next on the program. It’s great to have you with us.CALLER: Yeah, hi.RUSH: Hi.CALLER: About this thing about Broder [sic] and Fox, I find it kind of interesting in that, you know, they’re the ones who believe in freedom of the press, and when they have opposition they want to shut ’em down. Typical, but what if Fox went after those guys?RUSH: They are. Fox is beating them. That’s the thing. CALLER: Well, they’re beating them with ratings. I mean, beat them with facts, beat them up on stories, start pulling these guys and make them responsible like Broder. He writes a bunch of trash —RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! It wasn’t Broder, David Bauder: B-a-u-d-e-r. He’s a writer for the Associated Press. He’s a Drive-By Media guy, and what you’re talking about, what you’re actually saying is, “What if Republicans went on CNN and every time Wolf Blitzer asked them a question, “A-ha! I see you’re in Nancy Pelosi’s purse, and you’re in Harry Reid’s back pocket. I can tell when these –“CALLER: Yeah, get a backbone. RUSH: That’s what you’re saying, right?CALLER: Yeah. Get a backbone. Fight back.RUSH: I have done that.CALLER: Well, you have, sir.RUSH: I have done that. I did it with Paula Zahn, with Katie Couric once way, way back a long time ago on the Today Show. I do it. I refuse to accept their premise.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/10/02/liberal_stalinists_don_t_believe_in_freedom_of_the_press/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Liberal Stalinists Don’t Believe in Freedom of the Press

RUSH: I think the first thing we need to do out there, folks — well, not we, but the Republican Party, needs to just simply say that Jim McGreevey is now the official face of the Republican Party and end all this criticism. That way when McGreevey goes on Oprah as Mark Foley probably will not, then, you know, it’ll sort of balance the scales out there. I’m also looking at a new merchandising opportunity here, folks. You remember back in the early days of this program when the left was telling us that we needed safe sex out there and that safe sex equaled the condom, and I said let’s illustrate how effective that would be and I went out and did speeches and I put a condom over a microphone calling it “safe talk” trying to illustrate that the condom would protect the audience of anything offensive or rank that I might say. https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/10/02/clinton_war_room_back_in_action/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Clinton War Room Back in Action

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, do you remember post-Lewinsky, in the second term of Bill Clinton, that AP ran a series of stories — picked up by all of the other Drive-By Media — telling us that lying was good? ‘Little’ lies were helpful. They spared people’s feelings. ‘Everybody does it.’ It actually has redeeming social quality and value, if not done too much, but even then, you know, within reason, lying is actually a well-calculated way to get through life, causing yourself less pain and, obviously, others less pain. Well, you won’t believe this. So Clinton appears on Fox News Sunday this past Sunday — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday — so it’s four days ago, and I have here, ladies and gentlemen, in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers a story from our buddies at the Associated Press by Jocelyn Noveck:‘Is It Cool to Lose Your Cool? … That’s one of the questions of the week as we evaluate and re-evaluate Bill Clinton’s finger-pointing, knee-poking interview with Chris Wallace on Fox. The first debate, of course, was whether Clinton had actually lost it at all — a ‘full-bore tantrum,’ one conservative columnist called it — or knew exactly what he was doing. But splitting the difference for a moment, the interesting issue becomes…’ I kid you not. (laughing) I can’t say this with a straight face. ‘Can public anger in politics, business, and elsewhere be a good thing?’ (Laughing.) Yes! Let’s have more road rage. Let’s have more threatening of journalists. You hear what Ailes said? Ailes came out and said this was ‘an assault or an attack on all journalists.’ He said Clinton was totally over the top. I’m not kidding you, folks. We have a story here from the AP on how this is really good!https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/28/losing_your_temper_is_good_for_you/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Losing Your Temper Is Good for You!

RUSH: You know what I thought we would do, and it would be instructive. Do you remember Obama’s speech in Berlin in July 2008? Given that one of the things we’re talking about today is people’s frustration, people on the left — they’d vote for him again, make no mistake. But the Drive-Bys and a lot of people, they’re really wringing their hands over the fact that Obama gave a lukewarm, passionless, didn’t look like he really cared set of remarks about the beheading of James Foley, and then, 10 minutes later, is on the golf course. You ought to see the UK Daily Mail story on this. I mean, it is brutal. Let me just read you the subheadlines in this story. The primary headline is this: “Fist bump: Furious reactions to Obama´s joyful 5-hour golf game overshadow his 5-minute ISIS speech as he teed off immediately after condemning American photojournalist James Foley’s executioners.”https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2014/08/21/2008_flashback_reviewing_obama_s_citizen_of_the_world_speech_in_berlin/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Reviewing Obama’s Citizen of the World Speech in Berlin

RUSH: “On Feb. 4, 2010, when the House of Representatives voted to increase the legal limit on the national debt by another $1.9 trillion (lifting the limit from $12.394 trillion to $14.294 trillion), not one Republican voted for the increase.”It’s amazing how this tracks. It’s like I just said: If you go back to 2006, not one Democrat voted to raise the debt limit in 2006. Republicans ran the show then. One year ago, not one Republican voted to raise the debt ceiling when they didn’t run the show, of course. Just a year ago, one year, the debt ceiling has gone up by $2 trillion. Now, “Then-Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R.-Va.) rose on the House floor that day and declared that it was ‘beyond comprehension’ and ‘a travesty’ to talk about raising the legal debt limit to $14.294 trillion.“Last week, the Republican House leadership agreed to a deal with President Barack Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) to spend $3.7555 trillion in this fiscal year — even though at the close of business Friday, as the deal was being struck, the Treasury reported that it could borrow only an additional $80.85 billion before hitting the $14.294-trillion debt limit Congress set last year.” So the debt ceiling increase of last year, we’re bumping up agin’ it now — against it. We need to raise it again.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2011/04/13/if_we_don_t_raise_the_debt_ceiling_will_the_apocalypse_really_occur/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

If We Don’t Raise the Debt Ceiling, Will the Apocalypse Really Occur?

RUSH: I’ve gotta do this. I’ve gotta tell you about this. It’s in USA Today. It’s a USA Today story, and it is the most incredible attempt to advance the failure of liberal Democrat ideas on social welfare. Here’s the headline: “Fertility Gap Helps Explain Political Divide — House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic mother of five from San Francisco, has fewer children in her district than any other member of Congress: 87,727. Rep. Chris Cannon, R-Utah, a Mormon father of eight, represents the most children: 278,398. These two extremes reflect a stark demographic divide between the congressional districts controlled by the major political parties. Republican House members overwhelmingly come from districts that have high percentages of married people and lots of children, according to a USA Today analysis of 2005 Census Bureau data released last month. GOP Congress members represent 39.2 million children younger than 18, about 7 million more than Democrats. Republicans average 7,000 more children per district.”https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/27/the_fertility_gap_democrats_aborting_their_kids3/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Fertility Gap: Democrats Aborting Their Kids

RUSH: So the word is that Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are going to be speaking at an anti-Iran deal rally on the Washington mall today, and I think they’re gonna be speaking English. I’m not sure about it, but my best inside information is that Trump and Cruz are gonna be speaking English at the anti-Iran nuke deal rally, which the left will probably see as a hate crime. You know, I hope Trump doesn’t do what the Huckster did to Cruz. Did you see what happened to Cruz in Kentucky? Did you see this? Okay. Well, I’m not sure exactly what happened here. I know that Huckabee announced this big fanfare thing. He’s gonna go in there and he’s gonna get Kim Davis out of jail, and he even promised to serve her jail time if that’s what it took.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2015/09/09/trump_sticks_it_to_cnn_tells_jeff_zucker_to_donate_debate_profits_to_vets/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Trump Sticks It to CNN; Tells Jeff Zucker to Donate Debate Profits to Vets

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, let’s turn back the hands of time. Earlier this year you will recall during the continuing resolution debate, the funding of the budget, the raising of the debt limit, I was urging from behind the Golden EIB Microphone, John Boehner, the Republican leadership, to force Obama to cave, that we were the ones who held the position of strength coming off the 2010 midterm elections, which was a landslide shellacking. The Democrats lost 63 seats in the House. Well, it’s a net number that the Republicans have now in the leadership, in their lead. All the way down the ballot, state and local issues, the Democrats just took a bath. And I said winners don’t compromise with losers. Will Somebody Please Tell Me How We Compromise with Socialists?

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, there’s so much out there that seems on the surface to be inexplicable. The problem in this country, as a majority of people recognize, I mean, look at this poll here. Look at this. It is a poll from the Pew Research Center. The bottom line: 81% of the people in this country are dissatisfied. Eighty-one percent are dissatisfied. Do you think they’re dissatisfied with Ted Cruz? Do you think they’re dissatisfied with the Tea Party? Do you think they’re dissatisfied with the opposition to Barack Obama? The Republican Party obviously thinks so, but that is tantamount insanity.“A new poll shows more frustration with Washington over the government shutdown and risk of default, with the number of people satisfied with the state of the country plummeting to the lowest level since the 2008 financial crisis. Only 14 percent of Americans said they were satisfied with the way things are going in the US. … The survey also picked up a strong ‘throw the bums out’ sentiment.”https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2013/10/16/the_republican_party_embraces_irrelevance/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Republican Party Embraces Irrelevance

RUSH: There is a story today, SI.com. Actually, it was posted yesterday. Headline: ‘There’s No Better Place to be Sports Fan Right Now Than Philadelphia.’ I want to read a small excerpt, go to the break, and come back and delve into this in detail. It’s a good story about Philadelphia at SI, SportsIllustrated.com. But buried in this article, which I hold here right here in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers, buried in this article is this: ‘Passion like this takes strange forms. While the rest of the country saw Donovan McNabb as a franchise quarterback, Philly fans sensed, earlier than most of us, that McNabb was overrated.’https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2010/12/21/si_writer_mcnabb_was_overrated_and_philly_fans_knew_it_all_along10/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

SI Writer: McNabb was Overrated and Philly Fans Knew It All Along!

If you note that I sound somewhat frustrated, you would not be incorrect, because none of this is news. All of us are caught up in the middle of never-ending political agendas, but it’s disguised as news. We’re being told that this is news. “This is earth-shattering, breaking news! Why, we had no idea this was coming,” and that’s not at all what any of this is. This is all prepackaged. It’s preplanned. It’s been edited and formatted, and it’s been timed. It has everything about it designed to move forward a political agenda. But everybody involved in that’s saying, “No, no! There’s nothing going on here. We just have an honorable guy who’s very, very worried about the country and wants to set the record.” If he wants to set the record straight, why did he wait a year and do it for millions of dollars? If he cares so damn much about this.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2018/04/13/night-people-make-country-work/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

My Night With the People Who Make the Country Work

RUSH: Well, lots of exciting stuff going on out there today, folks. The latest from this whole controversy over the pope, and words. There are some things that happen that are simply propitious, and this is one of them. The pope utters words, he quotes an old emperor from many centuries ago, and now the Muslim world is going bonkers, rioting, killing a nun in Somalia, shooting her in the back while she was praying. These Muslim extremists, Islamofascists are proving everything that the pope’s words indicated. The New York Times had an editorial on Sunday that just totally misses the point, but, boy, is it expressive and illustrative.First off from Reuters, dateline Dubai. “An Iraqi militant group led by al Qaeda vowed a war against the ‘worshippers of the cross’ in response to a recent speech by Pope Benedict on Islam that sparked anger across the Muslim world. The statement was made in an Internet statement by the Mujahideen Shura Council, an umbrella group led by Iraq’s branch of Al-Qaeda, said, ‘We tell the worshipper of the cross (the Pope) that you and the West will be defeated, as is the case in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya… We shall break the cross and spill the wine. … God will (help) Muslims to conquer Rome. … God enable us to slit their throats, and make their money and descendants the bounty of the mujahideen.” Yeah, this is a peaceful religion, there’s no question about it. The pope simply utters words. But guess who one of the staunchest allies of Al-Qaeda happened to be yesterday? Well, not Jacques Chirac. It was the New York Times.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/18/muslims_riot_murder_over_pope_s_words_new_york_times_condemns_the_words2/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Muslims Riot, Murder over Pope’s Words, New York Times Condemns the Words

RUSH: I’m really happy to introduce to you Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who joins us from Washington. The last time I spoke to you, Madam Secretary, was during the 2000 presidential campaign, so it’s long overdue, but welcome to the program here.SECRETARY OF STATE RICE: Well, it’s great to be with you, Rush. I can’t believe it’s been that long.RUSH: Time flies when you’re having a good, good time.SECRETARY OF STATE RICE: (Laughs.) It does. It does.RUSH: Look, I want to get straight to this because I know your time is limited. The press conference today the president had about the congressional legislation he wants, 45 Democrats opposed — I’m not trying to draw you into political questions here, rest assured — you’ve got the three Republicans here, McCain and Warner and Lindsey Graham joining the Democrats opposing this. Secretary Powell wrote Senator McCain a letter that McCain has publicized. You have responded in a letter to Senator Warner. What did you say?SECRETARY OF STATE RICE: Well, in fact I sent the letter before I had seen Secretary Powell’s letter. My letter simply stated the Department of State’s position, which is that the interpretation of a US treaty obligation through US law is something that we do frequently and all the time. We’re not trying to change what’s called Common Article 3. We’re not trying to weaken it. We just want our professionals to have clarity so that they know what is legal and what is not, and I have absolutely no problem defending what the president has asked the Congress to do when I go internationally. I think it only makes sense that you would not leave a very unclear standard like that of Common Article 3, which talks about “outrages on human dignity,” for instance, Rush. You don’t want to leave that to unaccountable prosecutors, for instance, internationally. You want US law to define that.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/15/rush_interviews_secretary_of_state_condoleezza_rice/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Rush Interviews Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice

RUSH: In Chicago we’ve been following the “living-wage” argument and the Big Box Resolution, trying to keep Wal-Mart stores out of the city. (story) “The so-called ‘living-wage’ ordinance that would have required mega-retailers here to pay their workers higher wages was successfully turned back Wednesday as supporters on the City Council could not muster enough votes to override Mayor Richard Daley’s veto. Daley, who vetoed the ordinance this week saying it would cost the city jobs and hurt people who need those jobs the most, was able to convince enough aldermen who voted in favor of the ordinance in July to change their votes. The vote was 31-18 in favor of overriding the veto — three short of the necessary votes to do so.”https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/14/wal_mart_does_what_liberals_promised_to_do/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Wal-Mart Does What Liberals Promised To Do

RUSH: From the UK’s Daily Mail: “Men are More Intelligent than Women, Claims a New Study.” It’s by, let’s see… This website prints out in the weirdest way. You never know where the story starts. “It is research that is guaranteed to delight men and infuriate the women in their lives. A controversial new study has claimed that men really are more intelligent than women. The study, carried out by a man, of course, concluded that men’s IQs are almost four points higher than women’s on average. British-born researcher John Philippe Rushton,” (laughing), “who previously created a furor by suggesting intelligence is influenced by race says the finding could explain why so few women make it to the top in the workplace,” or that when they get to the top they start spying on board members and Congress investigates like out at Hewlett-Packard.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/14/jane_s_chick_radio_counters_toxic_rush2 Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jane’s Chick Radio Counters “Toxic” Rush

RUSH: This next story — I’m sure you’ve seen this, heard about it. This is the kind of thing that infuriates me, and I have to tell you, when I watched The Path to 9/11. (By the way, we’re going back to audio sound bites three and four next, Ed.) When I saw all of the hesitation and all the rules and all the regulations that prevented us from taking out Bin Laden or other terrorists, my blood boiled, and now there’s this story in the New York Post today. Taliban — and there’s a picture of it. “Taliban terror leaders who had gathered for a funeral – and were secretly being watched by an eye-in-the-sky American drone – dodged assassination because U.S. rules of engagement bar attacks in cemeteries, according to a shocking report. “U.S. intelligence officers in Afghanistan are still fuming about the recent lost opportunity for an easy kill of Taliban honchos packed in tight formation for the burial…” NBC had the pictures. It looked like there might have been a hundred and ninety of them there! “The unmanned airplane, circling undetected high overhead, fed a continuous satellite feed of the juicy target to officers on the ground. ‘We were so excited. I came rushing in with the picture,’ one U.S. Army officer told NBC. But that excitement quickly turned to gut-wrenching frustration because the rules of engagement on the ground in Afghanistan blocked the U.S. from mounting a missile or bomb strike in a cemetery, according to the report. Pentagon officials declined comment and referred The Post to Central Command officers in Afghanistan, who did not respond to a request for comment or explanation,” by press time. https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/13/liberals_still_obsessed_with_rush_path_to_9_11/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Liberals Still Obsessed with Rush & Path to 9/11

RUSH: You know, I’m sitting here, folks, and I’m watching all this self-absorbed remembrances going on in the media today about 9/11, and I promise you we’re not going to do that. I’m not going to bother telling you what I thought on 9/11. It wasn’t about me. There’s one thing that strikes me. It just hit me like a bolt of lightning this morning as I’m watching this stuff. There is one day a year where the Democratic Party and the American left admit that 9/11 happened, and it’s 9/11, it’s today. Now, what happened to the other 364 days of the year? They just pretend it never happened. But today, oh, yes, it happened. We’re out there doing the mass mush walk, and it’s interesting to note. Greetings, my friends, and welcome. Rush Limbaugh here behind the Golden EIB Microphone at the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies. The telephone number today has not changed, ladies and gentlemen: 800-282-2882, and the e-mail address if you want to send an e-mail is Rush@eibnet.com. Got lots of great audio sound bites today. Dick Cheney yesterday, masterful on Meet the Press. Russert assumed the role of a prosecutor yesterday, and Cheney held up well. I watched The Path to 9/11 last night on the plane ride back home from Los Angeles. I wanted to watch the Manning bowl which was on at the same time. So I intended just to watch the parts of the movie I knew where there might be edits, and I couldn’t tear myself away from it, even a second time, ladies and gentlemen. We’ll talk about it in greater detail here in just a moment. But the edits were not that severe. They really weren’t.https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/11/it_s_the_one_day_a_year_democrats_must_admit_that_9_11_actually_happened/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It’s the One Day a Year Democrats Must Admit That 9/11 Actually Happened

RUSH: Well, in the trade paper Variety, the movie and television industry newspaper, the possibility has been posed that Disney will totally scrap the movie, The Path to 9/11, that Iger is not happy with it, and just may broom the whole thing. I don’t know if that will happen, but I’ll tell you what has happened here is so eye-opening and illustrative that I wish it were self-explanatory to a lot of people, but sadly it probably isn’t. What happened yesterday is that the Senate Democrats, a bunch of the leadership in the Senate, sent Robert Iger, the CEO of Disney, a threatening letter. What we have here, ladies and gentlemen is a mob-like reaction from partisan hacks to intimidate an American broadcast network — and that network, ABC, is being intimidated. https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2006/09/08/stalinists_in_democrat_party_intimidate_abc_threaten_broadcast_license_over_9_11_film/ Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Stalinists in Democrat Party Intimidate ABC, Threaten Broadcast License Over 9/11 Film!

RUSH: Old Joey last night in the debate told another whopper. Yes, the vice president of the United States was talking to Paul Ryan. He said, “By the way, they talk about this Great Recession like it fell out of the sky. Like, ‘Oh, my goodness!’ Like, ‘Where did it come from?'” and he looked over at Ryan and said, “It came from this man voting to put two wars on a credit card at same time, put a prescription drug plan on a credit card, and a trillion-dollar tax cut for the very wealthy! Another Lie: Biden Voted for Both Wars

RUSH: Let’s play audio sound bite number 16. CNN’s Anderson Cooper 180, with hardly any audience, which is why we’re going to play this bite for you, spoke with the international correspondent at CNN, Michael Ware. Cooper said, ‘Everybody seems to admit, look, there’s no military solution, and yet politically there’s hardly any civilians on the ground in a lot of these areas, and the Afghan government is riddled with corruption. We’re trying to bolster in these areas a government which has not represented its people.’WARE: We’re not at the point where we could lose this war. This Taliban will continue to fight as long as US troops or foreign troops want to be there. So the whole idea is to put enough military pressure on the Taliban war machine to parlay that pressure at the negotiating table or to bring a political solution. Now, President Obama has to man up and decide: is he going to fight this war or is he going to oversee an American defeat.RUSH: A CNN reporter says to Obama, man up or lose Afghanistan? Man up or lose? Or is he going to oversee an American defeat? What do you think the answer to the question is? He’s willing to oversee an American defeat. He came out and said victory is an uncomfortable word in Afghanistan. So, meanwhile, the general who Obama wants and who Obama appointed and who Obama got confirmed wants some more troops. Mr. President, you are not a state senator from Illinois. You are the commander-in-chief of the US military. Do your job. Drop the politics. We got heroes on the battlefield giving their last full measure of devotion to this country and you’re voting ‘present.’ All because he doesn’t want to upset the applecart, the precious balance in Congress on his health care bill — well, on a health care bill because of the radical left. And now The Politico is fascinated with who leaked this news that Obama’s not gonna come up with the troops that the general wants, who leaked that the general wants the troops. It’s the funniest thing.
