MATT STELL:  Wow, what a journey!

A devastating stroke in 2013 took the voice, and nearly the life, of superstar Randy Travis. In the few years prior, some of those closest to Randy had depleted his fortune and upended his career. Randy details his saga in his recent autobiography, "Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith, and Braving the Storms of Life". This 2011 interview with Randy was his last extensive visit with Crook & Chase, and focused on the 25th anniversary of his debut album Storms of Life, that had ushered in a new, traditionalist era in country music.
