The Oh, 7 Podcast

Every week, Tae and Lucy break down an incredible movie from 2007 and ponder where it ranks within the best year of modern movie history.

The Oh 7

As the war/not a war with Iran does/doesn't trundle on, we look at Charlie Wilson's War, a film about a much less direct but just as impactful age-of-stupid era excursion into the Region courtesy of another womanising politician. Sound familiar? Then buckle up as we let history run roughshod over this historically iffy biopic into US foreign policy in the 80s (it was bad).Deep dives and recommendosBlowback Season 4Burn These Books - Why the Soviets Invaded Afghanistan and Why it Still Matters TodayBurn These Books - Charlie Wilson's War & How the CIA Destroyed AfghanistanMosiacs of Time - How Sicario's Cinematography Conveys Moral CorruptionHow to Get to Heaven From Belfast (Trailer)The Residence (Trailer)Send us Fan MailSupport the showDo all the things (or none)Catch the pod hereiTunes / Apple podcastsSpotify(a)RSS Isnicker)Come and talk to us on BlueskyClips and things on YoutubeInstagram? Given how excellent some of Anderson's more recent films have been, it's hard to love this one, but we smashed the like button for it over its trademark quirk, treatment of family dynamics and lofty production ambitions.Things to enjoyAccidentally Wes Anderson on InstagramWhat If Wes Anderson Directed X-MenSend us Fan MailSupport the showDo all the things (or none)Catch the pod hereiTunes / Apple podcastsSpotify(a)RSS Isnicker)Come and talk to us on BlueskyClips and things on YoutubeInstagram? Lucy and I get into Zodiac, David Fincher's finest (arguably) crime thriller. In a culture of exploitative media and the death drive towards celebrity, Zodiac feels worryingly at home in 2026. 2007 spewed out a fair few decent horror films, but we thought we'd take a look at 30 Days of Night anyway. Is it a flawed masterpiece? Did Cookie Monster inspire these vampires? Only time will tell.
