Bonus!! You is Kind, You is Smart, You is Problematic.

Who owns who’s stories? How do we begin to tell stories across difference? When done so successfully, what defines that success? Barry Jenkins, a straight man, directed Moonlight one of the greatest queer stories in cinema. Ryan Murphy, a cis white man, conceived POSE, the most inclusive cast of trans people of color in the history of broadcast. If Hanya Yanagihara, a straight Hawaiian woman, can write A Little Life, a story about black queer men, only to have penned literally every queer’s favorite book, then how did she do it? Y’all know and understand that Scarlett Johansson should not get to play a trans man on screen — but do y’all understand the mechanics of the why? Tune in. For appetizers, Joe makes us decipher the difference between slutty Sharon Olds poems and trashy romantic novels. Also, how much sex do the Thots actually have? The answers will horrify you! Tune in. Food 4 Thot x Junk: Podcast Vers

Hello my little Skittles, have I got some vittles for you: This week’s Junk is a special crossover ep with those gay sluts who love to read, Food 4 Thot! That’s right, we’ve got Fran Tirado, Joseph Osmundson, and Dennis Norris II—nobody’s junior—showing us that Junk can pluck us from the brink of sibling estrangement, Junk can remind us to try with the corny optimism of youth, and Junk can reinforce a meaningful link we have to those we’ve lost, sometimes in ways we didn’t know when they were here. Fran Tirado is a writer, editor, queer community maker, and glitter evangelist. Joseph Osmundson is a scientist, non-fiction writer, total crop Top, and the softest bowl of soft-serve you’ll ever meet. Dennis Norris II—nobody’s junior—is a writer, reader, former figure skater, lapsed violist, and all-star around the way girl. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll eat some gummy peaches, and to finish you off I’ll read a particularly Funyun-flavored excerpt from Junk the epic poem. Brought to you by Tin House Books. Smell U L8r!

On this, the Food 4 Thot season 2 finale, your favorite Tater Thots come full circle by considering the cycles that govern us all. Whether it’s night and day or life and death, we recognize that beginnings and endings are always present. We pay homage to the place where they intersect and examine our greatest moments of change; for where there is an ending (hopefully a happy ending!), any Thot worth their lube will always find room for possibility—a beginning of sorts. So we ask: can we be lost, and yet found? How do we launch ourselves, as queer brown folk, into the lives that are meant for us? And are we forever stuck in a cycle of surviving beginnings and chasing our desired endings? Shake Shacktivism

Save urself, bbs This week, we dive deep into politics, organizing, art, and activism. We’re joined by professional activist and boi-with-perfect-biceps Eliel Cruz. As writers, queer folks, and people of color (except Joe), our work is inherently connected to our bodies, and our bodies are, of course, political. But, at the same time, we all need freedom to make our work, even though it’s 2018 and the world is a burning, shit-infused trash heap. Where does this leave us? Is it enough to make work wherein queer and brown people can thrive and be whole? Is posting selfies with Audre Lorde quotes going to save us? Are there limits to protest? Are we just fucked, so we might as well just fuck? Before we bite the end off of that spicy sausage, we lube you up with some hybrid blends and love notes. Then Teebs tells us how he fell out of love and into writing with a pit-stop in scabie-ville. And we end with our favorite dessert of all time: Queen Cardi. We Are Not Lonely, We Just Hate People

We consider the difference between two of our favorite Tarot cards: The Hermit, who is alone by choice and on a deep, spiritual journal of self-discovery, and the Eight of Cups, a card of breakups, leaving love behind, losing what we thought we had (possibly without ever getting it back). Which isolations do we choose to fill up our resevoir and which isolations zap and sap our spirits? Baby gurl, are you lonely (Joe) or just alone (Teebs AF)? And, how does being queer – especially outside of big cities – alter this delicate balance? Before we get to the meaaaaat of the discussion, we decide conclusively that Oprah is a vers-top who loves getting her salad tossed (“YOU get a butthole, and YOU get a butthole”), and Joe O the Science Hoe takes us on a thot-ful tour of the West Coast, wherein he (spoiler alert) loses love and fills the void with… dick, duh. This Episode is Literally Everything

For our next installment of Food 4 Thot, we shake things up a bit. We get tons of topics submitted for suggestion everyday from our fans, so this week, we take on five. First off — drag. Why is drag problematic and when can it be great? Then, HIV/AIDS — how does access to healthcare and human rights a problem for people living with the virus? How can you, if you don’t have HIV, work to destigmatize this global epidemic? How can you have unprotected sex safely, and with whom? Next we we talk about whiteness. We get tons of emails from folx who say, “I’m white, help! What do I do now!?” Truly, we cannot help you. But! We have a few pointers to at least guide you on your journey in interacting with people of color on a daily basis. Then, we talk about queer intellectualism and how polarizing it is. (“Am I not smart enough to be queer??”) And finally, we talk about ghosting. When is it ethical? Is it ever ethical? Spoiler: Yes. Play along with us on our new favorite game: Microbrew or Gay Porn? The game is… exactly what it sounds like. Also, in our Impure Thot story this week, we have a special guest: you! We read through 60 pages of absolutely salacious slutty stories from our very own fans, and they are truly disgusting.

Working Hard or Just Hard?

Ciao bellx, For Food 4 Thot this week, we get into a thick and philosophical question about talent and hard work. When you navigate conversations about your own career, would you say you are talented, or would you say you are hard-working? Are these things in opposition to each other? Is one more important than the other? Do you need both, or if you’re a Kardashian/Jenner, do you need neither? This week, we play our favorite game Bone Block Bench, and have a riveting discussion about the legacy of Channing Tatum’s thighs. Fran tells a slinky little sex story that takes place, in part, on a pile mulch. The water’s warm, tune in! Thot Like a Master (feat. Alexander Chee!)

Qyeens, Boi, do we have a treat for you: this week, honorary podfather Alexander Chee is on Food 4 Thot. We talk about his new book and the art of how to tell your own story — whether it’s on Instagram, in your writing, or with your girlfriends over brunch. Who owns stories, and how do you navigate telling them? Is telling your own story cathartic? Does therapy make you a better storyteller? The master Chee tells all. In this episode, we also play a ho-ed up version of Never Have I ever. And! In a very special advice segment, Mr. Chee answers questions from the Thots. What’s the biggest thing he learned about writing a novel? Does being a writer make dating easier or harder? (Spoiler: so, so much harder.) Get the whole shebang and tune in! Muah. Cheaters *Sometimes* Prosper

Sup, sluts. On this week’s episode of Food 4 Thot we are LIVE and in color at Buzzfeed HQ chatting about one of our favorite topics: cheating. Being loyal or open with your partner is a hot topic in queer relationships, but a lot of grey areas and miscommunication leave many discussion points open. When is cheating okay? (Or is it ever?) Is physical cheating better or worse than emotional cheating? Why do folks conflate polyamory with infidelity so much? In our advice segment, we open up a question on how to get our rocks off with with folx who are dumb as rocks. Plus, we dive deep into Roseanne, Bit-yoncé Gate, pool floaties, and shudder toe rings. R U OK? (feat. Jenna Wortham!)

Hello little glow worms, Boy, do we have a juicy episode of Food 4 Thot for y’all. This week, the New York Times’ Jenna Wortham joins us in the studio for a thot-provoking little conversation about wellness and all its woes. How do we, as queer people, have to overcompensate for our self-care in the wake of trauma? To what extent is “self care” an excuse to be lazy, irresponsible, or a bad friend? What are the best Tips for Thots to up our wellness game? Spoiler: Do not put a crystal egg inside your butthole. Also! Miss Jenny Deluxe graces our ears with a thotty little story of catfishing & scandal. Plus! Hey fashionist@s, On this week’s episode of Food 4 Thot, we discuss personal style. In the studio with us is writer and producer Jacob Tobia who’s been around the block before when it comes to those who judge you based on appearances. How do you define your sense of style? Do you dress gay? Can you even “dress gay?” Where does fashion end and style begin? The Thots dive in! In our new segment The Thot Seat, Jacob answers some deep-cutting questions about street harassment, modeling contracts, and why the fashion industry just doesn’t like their body. Also! In a classic game of Swipe Right Swipe Left, and they tell us how they really feel about that one Vogue cover featuring Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid. Stay sexy, Xx The Thots

A Family Affair (feat. Christopher Soto!)

Hey fam, On this week’s episode of Food 4 Thot, we’re talking about what makes a queer family and all its ties. Pulitzer Prize-winner Christopher Soto is in the haus, and we’ve got questions. The Hills R Alive w/ the Sound of Faggots (feat. Jayson Smith!)

This week, we talk all about gay voices, and what it means to have one. Our guest-ho this week is writer Jayson Smith who in addition to being a goddamn genius, is also low-key a singer. Did you get made fun of for your voice as a kid? Do you like it or hate it now? Relatedly, Whitney vs. Mariah — who was the most vocally talented? The Thots go in. Also this week! We discuss sexting, angsty teens, and shirtless selfies. Plus Jayson gives us an Impure Thot story that stars a very, very nice pair of grey sweatpants.

Mask 4 Mask

Is there even such thing as “natural” when it comes to queer composure? Tune in and find out. Also! The Thots talk about the first albums they ever bought (Phantom of the Opera, Lindsay Lohan, Destiny’s Child, oh my!) and then we dive into our advice segment talking about the Life-Changing Magic of Frottage and penetration! Thots! Camera! Action!!! (feat. Ira Madison III!)

We’re going to Oprah voice Hollywooooooooooood. Just in time for the Oscars, we’re discussing…. Literally anything but the Oscars. The Academy will always disappoint us with mediocre guests and bad gay jokes and giving awards to cis people playing trans roles, so we are talking about our favorite queer films of yore. What are your favorite movies? What characters do you see yourself in, even when the film isn’t queer? (Maleficent anyone???) Also, we’ve got the delectable Ira Madison III in the studio to discuss his favorite queer films (and also those movies that aren’t even gay, but they are like SO gay). Plus he drags some of his favorite people to drag, Todrick Hall, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake — the list goes on. Bon appetit, bb.

Call Me By Yr Obscure Gay Memes

This week, we brought back our Official Thot Book Club with this season’s selection: André Aciman’s Call Me By Your Name. As is the case with most queers (for both the book and the movie) our opinions were divided. Was the conceit of this movie too white and wealthy? Was the sex a little lackluster? Should queer narratives be required to have sex in them? Did you feel yourself seen in Elio or Oliver (or neither)? What are the technical logistics and realistic constraints of fucking a peach? This week, we conceive a game called Gay 4 Play, where the Thots have to guess which actors have played homosexually on the big screen. After a breakup do you stand outside his house late at night while listening to Imogen Heap’s “Hide and Seek” over and over again before you cry yourself to sleep? No? Just us? Before dragging our exes for a solid 25 minutes, we dive deep into a very rare news segment talking about Barack Obama, Cardi B, a queer-as-hell fashion week, and of course, figure skating. We Don't Believe in Life After Love

It’s almost our favorite holiday, Discount Candy at Walgreens Day, and in honor of that, we’re talking all about love on today’s episode. We thots are all across the romantic spectrum: some of us don’t believe in life after love, some of us love to love you, baby, and the rest of us are all like “What is love?” (Baby, don’t hurt me). Wade into the murky waters with us, bbs. Also! We air out our dirty laundry and read our worst DMs ever, on air. Plus, we know Tommy is literally always bragging about hooking up with your man in the hotel lobby, but in this episode he literally shares a story about hooking up with your man in the hotel lobby. Is it your man? Tune in to find out.

We’re joined in the studio by writer Harron Walker who’s got a lot to say about what happens when people tell you what you can and can't do with your bodies. It's like, the opposite of a Janet Jackson song. ALSO, we play our favorite game Homo-nym, wherein the thots debate the gayness of our favorite cultural iconography. It’s a beautiful day in the slay-borhood, and just before we go on a very short break, we’ve got a fat little episode to hold over you adoring thots. This week, we talk about mentors, father-figures, daddies, and zaddies. How do these archetypes enter our queer lives, and how do we differentiate between them all? Tune in as the thots navigate how they found their mentors, but also how sometimes it doesn’t really work out. (Read: We slept with them.) Also this week! Take a crash-course on how to differentiate your thotty co-hosts as we decipher which is the “Thot Most Likely” to win different superlatives. (Which is the Thot Most Likely to Go to Prison?) Remember how there's so little representation out there for us in the mainstream, that "Will and Grace" is like, still the only thing we point to when referencing gay entertainment? This week, the Thots delve into queer representation, and how the "Will and Grace Effect" has permeated our queer lives, for better or worse. Also joining us is special guest-thot Jeffrey Masters, host of the LGBTQ&A podcast! We play a thotty little game of Swipe Left/Swipe Right with Jeffrey, swiping cultural forms as if they were on a dating app. (Spoiler! One of the Thots hates Oprah). New year, new us. JK, JK we’re staying exactly the same — and we’re cruising into 2018 with a very “us” episode. And can we just say — it might be our favorite from the season. We the Thots discuss “consent” which is more than a buzzword for all y’all’s think pieces, okurrr? What do we consent to when we walk into a gay bar? How do we as queer folk cultivate systems of sexual harassment and rape culture? What are our responsibilities when we enter these spaces, whether we are the flirter or the flirtee? Also, we bring back our very-requested advice segment “Penny For Yr Thots” and discuss why y’all gotta stop using the word “bitch,” how we navigate toxic attractions to masculinity, and when it’s totally okay to exploit your relationships for art and/or Twitter fodder. Then, we drop some wisdom on y’all with Certified Thot Life Hacks — Fran teaches you how to know if someones read your email, Tommy drops knowledge on how to get out of paying for a date, and Joe claims poppers can be used for *anything* you want. This episode’s theme is “upgrading.” Where do the waters get murky when you pursue goals of notoriety? What are the costs of rising to the top (even if you’re still a bottom)? It's Not Me, It's U (feat. Alexander Chee)

This week, we have guest host *gay drum roll* Alexander Chee! The critically acclaimed, award-winning novelist and essayist! Google him, binch! This episode is about rejection — how do we cope with rejection in our writing, in our race, and in our romantic lives? Also, we conned Alex into telling us a pearl-clutching thot story, plus we lay out our plan for the First 100 Days in office, as Presidents of the United Thots of America. In Goddess, we trust. Bottoms Up!

This week’s episode is about — well — sex positions. When it comes to the gay community, we’re all privy to using terms like “top,” “bottom,” and “vers” — but what do these terms really mean? Are they tools or tired clichés? Also, we go in DEEP on the value of astrology in our very first advice segment. (Spoiler! Joe is a Pisces.) PLUS we play our most favorite game yet: “Incense or Gay Sex Position?” Join the conversation! Boy Byeeeeeeeeee

This week’s episode is about “escape.” Escape in our favorite books, escape in theater, escape in the Internet, escape in punk. The act of running away is inherent to the queer experience, so when the hell do we ever stop running? Also, we talk about the philosophy of Archival Dick, the conspiracies of Pamela Anderson, and why “Living Single” is the GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME!!!!! Join the conversation! Wide Homo Spaces

This week we talk about “safe spaces.” Are they a thing? Does everyone get a safe space? The four thots (all from different parts of the country) talk about where they sought refuge before they moved to the gay Emerald City. Also, Joe gets his first big SCIENCE moment, explaining how the gay scientists of yore tried to prove “Born This Way,” AND we talk about the politics of violence floating around what it means to punch a nazi. But Do I HAVE 2?

This week we talk about different kinds of “obligation.” Like finishing a Zadie Smith book, eating a bad kale salad, reading an essay that one friend sent you, or staying in a bad relationship. Also, the thots go through their favorite resistance tactics underneath the regime of the Buttplug-in-Chief, and Fran shares the spiciest, most embarrassing sex story he has in his pocket. Tune in, queens. Lots of people are tweeting their reactions as they listen, so if you feel so empowered, tell us what’s titillating you @food4thotpod and we’ll make sure to RT. Ur Not My Type

This week we talk about “types”—how we typify things, sexually or literarily, and how those types can evolve or hold us back. We also talk about the classism of Fire Island, the gaiety of Moby Dick, and why petty white men tried to erase Eartha Kitt from history. Like a Virgin

This week’s theme is "first times"—first times doing butt stuff, first times seeing ourselves in literature, first times questioning religion, and first times accepting Beyoncé as our Lord and Saviour. We also get to talkin' about gay bars and steak houses (What's the difference??), the retribution of the Queen Bey's self-titled album, and (duh) how we lost our virginities. And it ain't pretty. Our dessert this week is the incomparable Lauren Duca, Teen Vogue writer and public enemy white male fascist trolls.
