Separation of Church and Date

Chris brings his girlfriend, Sandra, to court over their disagreement about what counts as going to church. He has agreed to attend church services with her a few times a year but thinks that going to weddings with specific religious elements should count. Sandra disagrees. Who's right? Who's wrong?
