Samia Thompson's life was altered completely after having thyroid problems mistaken for stage four lung cancer.


In the midst of running her own london cafe, Masalawala, the staggering diagnosis meant samia had to close her second business, as well as having to endure treatment and explain exactly what cancer is to her Mother. Follow her journey step by step on her blog


Taban Shoresh started her life on Saddam Hussein most wanted list as the daughter of a freedom fighter and political activist poet.


After reaching safety in the UK in the 80's and being emerged into city life, in 2014 when the humanitarian crisis in Iraq emerged Taban was moved to take action. Returning to her home country she took her son to with her to help deliver aid and build schools.


This work changed her view of life in London, leaving Taban even more inspired to create change, Taban started the lotus flower to help women and girls who's life were torn apart by isis. The aim of the lotus flower which is to, "Give women the tools to become financially independent and have the freedom to speak out and lead change." find our more here
