Ep 234: Shining a Light on Ageism with Annabel Giles and a Period Poverty Breakthrough with Amika George

By Badass Women’s Hour

Is Britain an ageist country? And do we need to change how view age and life as we get older?

Harriet and Natalie are joined by Jenny Trent Hughes as Emma takes a week off.

Annabel Giles joins the badass ladies in the studio to discuss older women and ageism in the workplace, the dating world and the “unspoken rules” we seem to have around getting older and how we react to that with our standards and beliefs.

And teenage activist Amika George talks about campaigning for the injustice around period poverty in the UK and how it has created change in parliament resulting a new government scheme to provide free sanitary product in UK secondary schools.
