Rich Spotlight: Jon Rothstein Stay Hungry, Stay Humble quote comes from an NBA coach he heard say at a press conference referring to a player’s potential Has always been a sports junkie and remembers vividly when Christian Laettner and Duke beat UNLV and knew then he wanted a career in sports Has always been an avid reader as a son of school teachers and eventually was able to have an article published in a local Gannett paper in high school Attended Ithaca College and graduated in 3 years Won the “Dream Job” contest in 2004 for ESPN Radio in NYC and thus began his career in sports media Spent six years in sports talk radio before being offered a job with the MSG Network covering college basketball Some of his most memorable interviews have been with Bobby Knight and with John Calipari during Kentucky’s National Championship season as well as Tommy Amaker now head coach at Harvard Words of Wisdom from Jon Rothstein: “We never cross a goal line. We don’t arrive in life, we’re always becoming.”
