View from the Gwladys Street: Everton’s end of season party atmosphere was great but 8th place finish is no cause for celebration

Tuesday, 14 May

A solid display in the final game of the Premier League season culminated in Everton finishing the season in 8th position. Not exceptional by any means, but Blues fans are looking at the bigger picture.

The feeling from last year’s 8th place finish under Sam Allardyce is completely different. There is a sense of expectation of what can be achieved should Everton make strides in the transfer window.

In this week’s View from the Gwladys Street fan podcast, Ian Croll is joined by Rob Astell and Connor O’Neill who plow through the last few day’s events. The agenda consists of some Tottenham reaction. A major topic of discussion is the two forgotten men in Everton’s squad Tosun/Walcott and whether they can still have an impact in a blue shirt.

There was no Jonjoe Kenny in Marco Silva’s side on Sunday – Is this the end for him? To finish off the lads lap up and laugh at our fans’ reaction to Liverpool not winning the league and pinpoint the exact moment that cost them the title. Ahem... Goodison Park!

It makes for good listening. Enjoy!   For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy
