Ep: 254, Finding Normality Through Music with Talia Dean

By Badass Women’s Hour

“The only thing I knew how to ground myself with was music.”

After Fridays news of Theresa May’s departure from Number 10 in June, Harriet, Emma and Natalie discuss the legacy that she leaves behind, and how they feel about the treatment she received and the state of Brexit as we move into a new chapter.

Talia Dean, former X factor contestant joins the ladies in the studio and shares her struggle with postnatal depression whilst she was on the show.

Talia talks about the pressure of being a new mum and hearing everyone else's opinion on how she should raise her child and how it took its toll on her mental health. After giving birth to her son, Talia says she was shocked by The change that happened and the emotion that came with it.

She was searching for normality in a time of confusion and change at home, this is what lead her to auditioning for the show and her X factor journey as she knew she took such comfort in performing, Talia says this is when she feels most comfortable, despite dealing with dark times after suffering a miscarriage just months before her X factor audition.

Talia’s next adventure is with her new Band "King's Daughters” and she tells the ladies about working with Brian May on their most recent song.
