By Badass Women’s Hour

How much do you know about the “new kids on the block in politics”? Forget Brexit party it’s The Women’s Equality Party!

Harriet, Emma and Amanda Prowse are joined by Mandu Reid leader of the The Women’s Equality Party talk about being a black woman in politics and standing up to represent people who don't see themselves in UK politics currently.

Coming from parents who lived with apartheid, Mandu shares with the Badass women her journey of getting into politics and the life changing event that caused her to join the Women's Equality Party, who, in the past few years have grown in support and managed to have an influence on the country with a "shoestring" budget and a small amount of airtime and media coverage.

She talks leading the way for the other major parties on various issues Mandu and her team have brought to light and seen policies start to change. Despite the name, Mandu is keen to have full representation in the party and recognises that Women’s Equality Party needs to embrace and fairly represent as many societal and minority groups.

The ladies also discuss the prospect of Boris Johnson being the UK's next prime minister

And how are England's lionesses fairing in France at the Women's World Cup? But why aren't we just calling it ..... The World Cup?! Harriet, Emma and Amanda are chatting to host of football podcast "The Offside Rule" Kait Borsay.
