Pre-Season Diary #8: Travel problems, a new signing and one last chance to impress

Welcome to our eighth pre-season diary of the summer. Unlike the first seven, there's no Phil Kirkbride, who is on a weekend off, so instead we've got our Everton FC reporter Adam Jones to provide us with a dispatch from the Blues' final station point, Bremen, where Marco Silva's side will round off their preparations with a clash against Werder on Saturday. Adam will be hoping for a less taxing afternoon after a bit of nightmare trip to Germany which culminated with a new signing and, as you may have seen on Twitter, a well-deserved Currywurst and beer, The signing in question, of course, is midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin. Adam discusses the arrival of the £25m man from Mainz before pondering Blues boss Silva's options in the centre of the park and previewing the Werder Bremen clash. Enjoy.
