Did Samsung Really "Fix" The Galaxy Fold?

Samsung claims to have fixed the Galaxy Fold. Fixes include a reinforced hinge and a redesigned screen "protector". Are these changes enough to convince buyers to splurge on Samsung's $2000 folding phone experiment?
