Can Brad Pitt Beat Oscar Winners Al Pacino and Tom Hanks? - For Your Consideration

On this week’s For Your Consideration, Collider’s awards experts Scott Mantz and Jeff Sneider are joined by special guest John Rocha as they examine the Best Supporting Actor category and whether Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star Brad Pitt can stave off past Oscar winners Al Pacino and Tom Hanks, who are in the mix for The Irishman and the Mister Rogers movie A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, respectively. Pitt has won Best Picture before as a producer, but he has never won an acting statue despite being nominated three times in the past.Meanwhile, Jeff thinks that Joe Pesci stands as good a shot as his Irishman co-star Pacino, and urges his fellow panelists not to overlook Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, who is said to be the standout in Just Mercy. Scott thinks that Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins could score a nomination for his turn in The Two Popes, while John thinks a different Netflix performance could crack the final five -- Wesley Snipes from Dolemite Is My Name.Shia LaBeouf is also firmly in the mix, having written a killer role for himself in the autobiographical drama Honey Boy. The Lighthouse may have divided audiences, but just about everyone can agree that Willem Dafoe was fantastic. And the guys are keeping an eye on Sterling K.
