Wilder defended his WBC world heavyweight title by beating Luis Ortiz in Las Vegas with a brutal stoppage.
Deontay Wilder knocked out Luis Ortiz with his first meaningful punch of the fight. Wilder was losing the fight convincingly before landing the straight right hand on Ortiz's chin, sending him crumbling to the canvas. He was clearly looking for the opening throughout the fight, and took full advantage when the opportunity presented itself.
