Life, Interrupted with Simon Thomas
Simon Thomas explores human endurance through the toughest times. In a series of interviews with well-known celebrities and notable people, he discovers how crisis and desperation can lead to hope and inspiration for a new and happy life.
Here we will discover that people from all walks of life have endured the most difficult times. That there is hope. That our most desperate moments can reveal strength and resilience we didn’t know we had. That things can, and will, get better.
In this interview, Simon talks to former Cricket Captain Luke Sutton about his competitive attitude to life and how this led to valuing winning at all costs. Luke struggled with finding a release from the pressures of needing to win and found calm in using alcohol. He also endured the sudden loss of his long-term partner. Things spiralled out of control, and after a period in rehab and a near-fatal diagnosis in hospital, Luke found a way to approach life differently. Today he says that he is learning to live with his past and carry life forward into the future.
