Colts Cast: Colts bounce back in Week 2, take out Vikings 28-11

By SB Nation

The Indianapolis Colts needed a big win, to play well and efficiently against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2. Well, in their home opener, the Colts bounced back after a disappointing Week 1 loss, with a dominating victory against the Vikings 28-11. By all accounts, the Colts were good on both sides of the ball. They held the Vikings under 180 total yards of offense, forcing 3 turnovers, and put up over 350 yards of total offense themselves nearly doubling the Vikings up in time of possession. Rookie running back Jonathan Taylor ran for his first NFL touchdown while racking up 101 rushing yards in his first start, and Mo Allie-Cox picked up the slack of a very thin tight end group by catching 5 balls for 111 yards. Philip Rivers was good Philip this week as well and statistically could have been even better without a perfect toss for touchdown that was dropped instead of putting 6 points on the board. T.J. Carrie played well in Rock Ya-Sin's absence, and Julian Blackmon made his presence known as well defensively. Additionally, DeForest Buckner was noticeably more productive this week, and Tyquan Lewis showed off what the Colts saw in him when they moved up to draft him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The Colts now prepare to host the New York Jets in Week 3, but this win was a must for the team to gain some momentum heading into the thick of their schedule. Learn more about your ad choices.
