Essex lorry deaths: Why Vietnamese migrants risk their lives

In the early hours of 23 October 2019, a grim discovery was made on an industrial park in Grays.

The bodies of 39 people were found dead in a refrigerated lorry.

29 men, eight women and two 15 year-old boys had suffocated. We later learned the victims were all Vietnamese migrants.
