In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing, Shu Matsuo Post. He is the author of the book, "I Took Here Name." In this episode, Shu talks about how he decided to go against the traditions of his Japanese heritage and do something that he desired and thought was important.
He took his wife's name rather than having her take his.
As a male, who was raised Italian Roman Catholic, it was never seen as the male to take the female's last name but always the other way around.
To hear a different perspective on the importance to Shu on why he did this and why he felt it was necessary to break through the barriers and conditioning of the world is truly worth reading the book and more importantly, listening to this podcast episode. :)
