Having turned out 20 times throughout the course of the season, following injuries to the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip, Phillips became a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds. But speaking with Theo Squires, Phillips explains how close he came to leaving Liverpool at the start of the campaign, before sharing his unique insight on how the season played out.
