Athens police arrested a local taxi driver, on suspicion of murder. To their surprise, he confessed that it was not his first murder. Between 1987 and 1996, Dimitris Vakrinos murdered five people and attempted to kill another seven. He killed or attacked anyone who crossed him, no matter who they were. Because of his varied methods of murder and the fact that his victims were all different, police were unaware that a serial killer was active in the ancient city.
