Where to Next for Smart Cities and Communities Part 20

By Zoe Eather

Hello #smartcommunityfriends. I'm back with another bonus episode of the Smart Community Podcast sharing various guests answers to the question, 'Where to next with Smart Cities and Communities?" And this time I'm sharing with you the answers from these guests: •Niels Wouters from Episode 249 •Jonathan Reichental & Brett Hoffstadt from Episode 251 •Jack Barton from Episode 252 •And finally Kylie Legge from Episode 253 Some themes that come through in the guest answers are around the self governance of data, building more resilient and flexible communities and systems thinking for problem solving. It is more important than ever for communities to be more resilient and have the ability to identify potential risks in society in order to build these resilient communities. Smart Communities is about making people's lives better and it is important to have a holistic approach to connecting communities and systems thinking to solve problems aiming for the common good of society. As Jonathan Reichental says, "I think we've got to be in a position now where we actually identify the potential risks in our society. And we make plans, and we test those plans." As always we hope you enjoyed listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed making it.
