KEY TAKEAWAYS

Mind modelling is when therapists look at the process of a behaviour occurring in the mind to transform the behaviour rather than the content. Emotions are the biggest thing at play in people’s behaviour, regardless of the therapy you use. You have to train your emotions in your unconscious mind to alter your mindset and behaviour. Everything that happens in the world started with a thought, with an idea. After struggling with his relationship with alcohol for most of his life, Robert had a moment of clarity where he decided to stop. He hasn’t struggled with this decision at all and has had zero cravings. He attributes this to There has been found to be a strong link between ADHD and addiction, Robert believes this is due to the hyper fixation part of an ADHD diagnosis. Those with ADHD can often be misdiagnosed with a variety of different mental health disorders, many don’t get diagnosed until later in life and quite often, not at all. Our behaviour is programmed into us from a variety of sources, including our childhood and those we surround ourselves with. To change behaviour or combat something like addiction, Robert believes we need to reprogramme our unconscious brain’s behaviours. Anxiety is one of the biggest reasons people seek treatment from Robert, alongside addictions, including ketamine and alcohol. Micro-dosing halogenic is a new area of therapy for both depression and anxiety. Early studies are very positive using drugs like LSD and even Magic Mushrooms.

ABOUT THE GUEST

Robert Hisee

“I’m Robert Hisee, the UK’s number 1 unconscious mind therapist. I’ve only been sober 61 days on the day of the podcast, not like everyone else, I’ve not stopped because I wanted to stop, I just woke up hungover one morning and I said that’s it, I’m clean and I haven’t even had any cravings. Mine’s not the same as everyone else’s, I’m not fighting it, struggling or trying, I just woke up and stopped. I’m not sure how I’ve done it as I’ve been drinking since I was 15 years old. There is a reason behind it which I’ll go into during this podcast, about the reticular activating system and what I’ve been re-programming my mind with, and I think that just took over and did it for me.”

PODCAST DESCRIPTION

Daniel O'Reilly's newest venture sees the creation of his Menace 2 Sobriety podcast, a series of relaxed and open conversations with different guests and varied experiences.

After recently being diagnosed with severe ADHD and beginning his sobriety again, Daniel also set up a page on Facebook and Instagram called 'Men And Their Emotions' (M.A.T.E) an accessible, open and supportive group for MEN to post their feelings, thoughts and current life issues. Upon seeing the responses from men around the world to some of the posts on the group he was blown away and continues to be touched by the kindness and support offered by strangers. This all led to Daniel wanting to start up his own podcast and invite guests to join him in opening up about past experiences and talk about all things mental health, family & sobriety.

The podcast will see Daniel and his interesting guests' sharing their personal stories and learning experiences that they hope will help other people; whether it encourages one person to ask for help, talk to family about their struggles with getting sober/clean, or realise that they aren't alone. The Menace 2 Sobriety podcast has been created by Daniel to help people fight their own gremlins.
