David is possibly best known for his roles as the Governor in the American series The Walking Dead, State of Play for which he was nominated for a BAFTA and the RTS winning and BAFTA nominated drama Sherwood. Other TV and film credits include Inside No.9, The League of Gentlemen, Good Omens, The Missing, The Driver, The Field of Blood, The Hollow Crown, Blitz, the film Nowhere Boy about the young life of John Lennon, Red Riding, The Other Boleyn Girl, Cape Wrath, Basic Instinct 2, The Deal, The Reaping, Clocking Off, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, Centurion, Hilary and Jackie, Our Mutual Friend and Doctor Who.
