After the pandemic the rise of “digital nomads” sparked envy across social media – but are they causing more problems than they solve? Kasia Tomasiewicz is joined in the Bunker by UCL anthropologist Dave Cook to find out if working from the beach is all it's cracked up to be.  “They travel around the world to escape the 9-5 and end up in a coworking space. . . which is just the millennial rebranding of the office.”  “In Lisbon there is graffiti on walls saying ‘digital nomads are a f*cking disgrace, go home’. There is a lot of tension.“ "The ability to be a digital nomad depends on the global passport and visa system which is very racist."  For more on Digital Nomads, check out What is a digital nomad? by Dave Cook   www.patreon.com/bunkercast  Written and presented by Kasia Tomasiewicz .
