Ramsey, a lot of our assumptions and understandings about this era are actually mistruths. So he wrote When Crack Was King: A People's History of a Misunderstood Era.” 

He tells Kai that the full truth reveals, “how deep the harm goes in America when it comes to anti-Blackness.”
