Dressed Classic: A History of the Paper Pattern Industry

This week we revisit our 2020 episode dedicated to the work of costume designer, fashion historian and expert on the history of paper patterns, Joy Spanabel Emery, who for many years also served as the Curator of the Commercial Pattern Archive at the University of Rhode Island. Her book A History of the Pattern Pattern: The Home Dressmaking Fashion Revolution is considered a definitive work on the topic, which we know is near and dear to many of our listeners' hearts!
