E.60 From Banking to Cheese Making; The Journey to Honestly Tasty

In this episode we are joined by Mike the Founder of Vegan Cheese Brand Honestly Tasty. Honestly, Tasty started in 2018 to fill the huge gap of delicious plant-based cheese alternatives. Vegan Cheese was often left behind, when alternatives started appearing and changing consumer habits, you would often hear the phrase, "I can't be Vegan because I love Cheese too much" and there was a stage where the Vegan Cheese alternatives were really disappointing.

After Mike turned Vegan his love for Blue Cheese was really being tested due to there being no alternative on the market, therefore Mike went to Berlin, did a cheese-making course and made it his mission to create his own alternative. After positive feedback from friends and family Mike decided to leave his real estate banking job and turn his attention to the challenge of starting a plant-based cheese brand.


This episode follows the journey from 2018 to now, through the challenging times of COVID, Brexit and the cost of living crisis, as well as the more positive moments of getting into Ocado and M&S
