Celebrate National Coming Out Day With Cleve Jones

Cleve Jones talks about why coming out of the closet is still so important in the fight for LGBTQ rights. He also lays out the what we gain from of living amongst a community of LGBTQ people: political power, specialized social services for the more vulnerable in our population, and cultural vitality. Cleve Jones joined the gay liberation movement in the 1970s, was mentored by Harvey Milk, created the AIDS Memorial Quilt, and his memoir, When We Rise, is part of the inspiration for the ABC mini-series of the same name.
