Proper Football With Glenn Hoddle

Kammy and Ben pick over England’s World Cup exit in the company of playing legend and former England manager Glenn Hoddle. Glenn explains what he thinks would have happened if Harry Kane had scored that penalty against France, what England need to change to become winners and whether he thinks Gareth Southgate should stay on as manager. They also discuss his own playing and managerial career: his biggest regret from his time managing England, which legendary boss he told to do one; why he kept Ruud Gullit away from Stamford Bridge when trying to sign him for Chelsea and the time he thought he was being kidnapped. And after Ian Holloway revealed one of his teammates used to eat Vicks VaporRub before a game, Kammy and Ben want to know the weirdest pre-match routines you’ve seen or done. Proper Football With Ian Holloway

This week's guest with Kammy and Ben is never short of a word or two...it's the former Blackpool, QPR and Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway. He tells them about some of the best and strangest moments from his career; from taking Blackpool to the Premier League to how he sneakily caught out two of his players ordering chips and pints the night before a game; why he put his home address on the club website to fight his own supporters and how a game at Birmingham City gave him his biggest laugh ever. Elsewhere, he reveals which other manager he's itching to have a row with, why he can't walk away from football management and the very, very strange way one of his teammates used to intimidate opponents. Meanwhile, Kammy remembers how he took a rollicking for Vinnie Jones and reveals which Premier League squad he beat in a fitness test when he was 55 years old!

Proper Football With Andy Townsend

What did Liam Gallagher say to Gareth Southgate after his penalty miss at Euro 96 and which Hollywood star brought it up again a few days later as he tried to escape it all? What happened when Paul Gascoigne ran off with Middlesbrough’s brand new team bus? And how did a mix up over kits almost scupper the start of Ireland’s 1994 World Cup campaign? Former Aston Villa, Chelsea and Republic of Ireland midfielder Andy Townsend reveals all of that to Kammy and Ben on this week’s pod, as well as tales of living with Gazza, being pranked by Southgate and why Jack Charlton was hammering the players before Ireland’s World Cup penalty shoot-out with Romania at Italia 90. Andy also chooses the best player he played with, the one match he’d watch for the rest of his life and explains why it was a nightmare coaching the Chelsea team that contained him, Dennis Wise and Vinnie Jones. Olly talks about his own semi-pro career and reveals the funniest putdown he ever received on the pitch after becoming famous, remembers the time Bradley Walsh put away Jose Mourinho and when Wayne Rooney laid into him and Mark Wright. Man Utd season ticket holder Olly also gives his thoughts on THAT Cristiano Ronaldo TV interview. Proper Football With Mark Noble

He chats about what he'll be doing in his new role as West Ham's Sporting Director, why he took defeats so personally, what it was really like working under Alan Pardew, Avram Grant and Big Sam, and explains why the first COVID lockdown was so tough a period for him. Proper Football with Sven-Göran Eriksson

First half good, second half…even better! Kammy and Ben are joined by former England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson for a trip back in time as he recalls taking charge of the Three Lions at the 2002 and 2006 men’s World Cups. What does Sven say was his biggest mistake? Should he have been more like Winston Churchill at half-time against Brazil? What did Sir Alex Ferguson say (shout) when Sven told him he was taking an injured Wayne Rooney to Germany? Did inter-club rivalries hinder the side? And were the WAGS really one of the reasons for England’s failure to win in 2006? Sven also gives his verdict on England’s chances in Qatar, states who he thinks is their key man for success and explains why he believes the tournament should never have been held there. Also in this episode: how David Beckham was too big even for Real Madrid’s Galácticos, the England’s squad reaction when the tabloids splashed on Sven’s private life and what advice should you give a defender when a prime Diego Maradona is absolutely ruining him?

Also in this episode: did Robinho really know he was joining Manchester City, and not United? How close was he to joining Arsenal or Tottenham instead of Chelsea? Why did he feel sorry for Jamie Carragher when he used to play against Drogba? And what do you say when one of your team-mates is subbed off just 20 minutes after coming on as a sub themselves? Did he really have a hit single and why did he have a race with a journalist..and did he win? ADVISORY: Mick refers to his Republic of Ireland team-mate Pat Bonner as ‘Packie’, which is a commonly used abbreviation of the name ‘Patrick’ in Ireland, and how he was widely known throughout his playing career.
