Episode 052 | Forever Forwards | The Wrap Up

For the last Forever Forwards episode, the collective wrap-up the series that celebrated Black creatives throughout October and reveal how it came to life and what some of the challenges and highlights were. Yaf takes intro duties on this one (1:06), coins a new term, ‘The Zoom Zoom Room’, and sheds light on the ‘Senior Director’ nickname, Steven has given himself (4:40)! WMYS makes a welcome return (9:55), then Kwame poses the question to the others on how the series started (18:56) and the group break-down how the name ‘Forever Forwards’ came from a comment in a WhatsApp group chat (23:57). Kieran poignantly speaks on how all of the guests, persevered and showed great self-belief in trying times of their journeys (29:24).

The group reflect on what has taken place during Black History Month in the UK and Black Achievement Month in The Netherlands and discussed if media outlets and brands did enough in terms of paying homage and raising awareness (42:39).

After a month of guests, it’s nice to hear the crew back together again, teasing one another and providing their insights on a range of topics. An educational and entertaining listen, as ever.
