2023 Martini Awards Part 2: Sorry to See You Go, Rising Star, Fading Into Oblivion

2023 Martini Awards Part 2: Sorry to See You Go, Rising Star, Fading Into Oblivion

By Radio America

Join Jim and Greg as they offer the second installment of their highly coveted year-end awards. Today they remark on the people connected to politics that they're most sorry to see pass away in 2023. They also share their choices for rising political stars and those who appear to be fading into political oblivion

They begin with those who left us over the past year. Jim chooses two friends involved in the political world who left suddenly and far too young. Greg mentions three figures, including a prominent conservative from across the Atlantic and a respected journalist in Washington.

Then it's on to a much happier subject as they consider the rising political stars for 2023. They both choose Republicans on Capitol Hill - one of whom is frequently in the spotlight and other who is often working behind the scenes.

Finally, they agree on the political name most likely heading into oblivion after 2023. But Greg tosses out one other name near the top of his list who emerged from relative anonymity onto the national stage and now seems headed back to obscurity.

There will be no 3 Martini Lunch on Christmas Day. Join us on Tuesday as we consider the categories of Biggest Lie, Best Political Theater, & Worst Political Theater.

Merry Christmas and thank you for listening to the 3 Martini Lunch!
