Sec. Austin Goes AWOL, The Sugary Drink Tax Myth, Bosses Getting Fed Up with Gen Z

By Radio America

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim. Today, Scot and Greg serve up all crazy martinis. First, they walk through the bizarre saga of Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin being in the ICU with post-surgery complications and no one apparently telling the President of the United States, the National Security Adviser, or even the Deputy Secretary of Defense for four days.

They also roll their eyes at a new study suggesting higher taxes on sodas and other sugary drinks work to lower consumption and the change is permanent. Instead, they point to people just buying the drinks where they cost less and the government often failing to spend the money where it promised to when the taxes were approved.

Finally, they sigh at a new survey of employers showing significant percentages of them are weary of Gen Z applicants - many of whom do not dress well, have outlandish expectations in compensation, lack a strong work ethic, and even bring their parents to job interviews.
