Lisa’s signs of early menopause were terrifying to her, and missed by medical practitioners failing to recognise the symptoms. It led her on a long, emotionally painful and punishingly expensive journey; she was put on antidepressants and effectively told to suck up aging, she was told she would never have children at a time when she was still considering starting a family, she was treated with a shocking lack of empathy as her symptoms “shape-shifted”.
