I'm Grand Mam

By Kevin Twomey and PJ Kirby

Two lads, originally from Cork in Ireland and now living in London, have a cuppa and catch up each week while exploring the collective life landmarks that accompany growing up gay in the world today. Ep 113 - US of Gay

In the catch-up this week Kevin throws ideas at PJ for Jose’s birthday celebrations, which is always a tricky one to organise as PJ loves to plan everything to a tee but Jose likes to chillax. They also talk about the horrors of wearing a dance belt when they were younger and the joy of taking it off after a ballet class. The theme for the week is America, the land of the free, chosen by PJ because he wanted to tell everyone all about his stories from his many trips to the States. Though Kevin has never been, he has always been obsessed with America, exemplified by the fact that he had an Obama hoodie and a Starbucks wallpaper on his phone when he was a teenager.Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / Bookstation 💕Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 112 - OnlyFlahs

This episode begins with PJ sharing his second-hand sofa search story which resulted in him getting a suite of furniture which is worth over €20k for €800 but Kevin reckons he was swindled as it’s walking with the dirt. Things then get a bit NSFW as the theme for the week is OnlyFans and the lucrative world of adult content creation, an industry the lads could never get involved in because they’d be mortified if nobody subscribed. Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / Bookstation 💕Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 111 - Lonely in my Lamborghini Gallardo

The lads are recording from PJ’s new gaff in Dublin which is situated right next to a DART track so if you hear any train noises during the episode no you didn’t. The theme for the week is loneliness and the boys discuss the impact of moving away from each other last year when they were clung to each other like moss to a damp wall and the absolute mortification of having to force yourself to make friends in new social settings. To get involved with ALONE or avail of their services visit www.alone.iePreorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / BookstationSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 110 - Frog in a Box

The lads are still in Cork and Kevin feels the need to address something that everyone else has been thinking but nobody is brave enough to admit; donuts are taking over the city once more. From Dinky Donuts to Krispy Kreme, there's no avoiding the torus shaped treats and Kevin is ready to break his silence. The theme for the week is pets and PJ learns that Kevin actually did have pets in his youth, he just hasn't mentioned them before for fear of being cancelled. Though they might have differing views on cats, one thing they can both agree on is that it would be stunning to be Tom Hardy's dog and cuddle with him on a Friday eve.Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / BookstationSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 109 - Inky Boots

Kevin and PJ are still buzzing after their live podcast at the Cork Opera House but regrettably neither of them have a vocal chord left in their throats. The theme for the week is body modifications and the lads start off by saying which piercing locations are the hottest. PJ loves a tongue piercing on a fella but Kevin thinks it's absolutely horrendous. PJ gives us a tattoo tour of all the artwork on his body and assures Kevin that the image on his torso is a vase and not a butt plug and the lads then discuss whether they think strict rules regarding the visibility of tattoos in the workplace need to be reconsidered.Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / BookstationSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 108 - Hen Hijinks and Stag Shenanigans

The boys have never claimed to be perfect so please don’t come for them when you hear them ranting and raving about the iced brown sugar oat latte from Starbucks; at the end of the day they’re gay men and they need their caffeine fix and they love the sound of the ice clinking in the cup. Kevin says that he wishes he lived above a coffee shop as it would tie in with his Sunday morning fantasy of popping down to get his flat white before returning to bed with his lover to read a broadsheet newspaper. The theme for the week is hens and stags, chosen by Kevin because he wants PJ to get his act together and start planning the wedding again so that he has something to look forward to. Though they have a difference of opinion when it comes to the inclusion of strippers and masks of Jose’s face at the hen, one thing they can agree on is that light up MR & MR signs are not to feature in the wedding in any way, shape or form.Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / BookstationSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 107 - Keeping up with the Kleptomaniacs

The lads’ mams have both been away on holidays which leads to a discussion about doing a deep clean of the house before a trip abroad. It just gives you a greater sense of peace when you’re doing your rest and relaxation bits by the pool doesn’t it? They then turn their attention to the theme of the week which is stealing and the lads share whether they were fond of a five finger discount when they were younger. Kevin also reveals that he had a chaotic mischievous French exchange student with a penchant for Elizabeth Arden products. Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / BookstationSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 106 - Corkin’ Around with Mama’s Love

The lads are recording from the Apple studio again in London and PJ’s questioning whether he’ll be able to get a pistachio latte from Blank street coffee before he flies back to Dublin as he believes the drink is derived from the tit of Aphrodite. They also question how much butter is in a croissant which leads Kevin on to a story of a new bakery he visited at the weekend (and did he mention it was raining at the time?). The theme for the week is the future and they discuss whether AI is a good or bad thing and whether it will make their jobs as podcast hosts obsolete or not. To out AI to the test they use Chat GPT to generate a podcast intro for them and it doesn’t disappoint. They also talk about what inventions they would like to exist in the future.Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / BookstationSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 105 - Festival Fromagerie

You might notice some stunning sound quality in this weeks episode girlies and it’s because the boys are recording in a studio thanks to Apple Podcasts. Both of the lads have been to see the Barbie movie and Kevin insists he wanted to see it by himself though PJ thinks it’s because he has no friends. They then talk about the awkwardness of kissing in a cinema or in a car and being traumatised about having to face your parents with a hickey on your neck. The theme for the week is festivals and Kevin questions if he’s just not cut out for the festivals anymore whilst PJ reckons he’s better suited to them because or a traumatic experience he had in Dripsy woods when he was 16. They also discuss what their riders would be for when they perform at a festival.Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / BookstationSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 104 - Head Barbie in Charge

The podcast opens with a heart-warming tale from Kevin that involves an Uber driver and a drag queen on the weekend of Pride in London. The boys then discuss how they feel absolutely triggered when a random stranger refers to them as sir and worse again is when lads on dating apps think it's okay to call you 'Mr'. It's not. Then because it opened in cinemas this week, they had to talk about all the hysteria and hype surrounding the Barbie movie and discuss their earliest memories of the iconic doll. Hosted on Acast. Ep 103 - Ain't It The Tooth

The boys had their first author event this week and the imposter syndrome was going ninety but then they met Anne Doyle and she hugged and kissed them and all was okay in the world again. It's been a month since Kevin's tooth ordeal and though his smile might be back to normal he is yet to recover from the mental trauma (traama) of it all so he decides to unpack things in this weeks episode and they also read out other dental disaster stories.Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from:Easons / Dubray / BookstationSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 102 - Booked and Busy

This week the boys announced that they are releasing their own book, The I'm Grand Mamual and they couldn't be more excited. They are well and truly in their author era and so it will come as no surprise to learn that they choose reading as the theme for the week. They talk about giving big main character energy when they were writing chapters of the book on their laptops in random cafés and reveal that when they came up with the iconic title for the book they put their pens down and took the rest of the day off to congratulate themselves on a job well done. They also make a promise to do something chaotic should the book become a bestseller.Preorder The I'm Grand Mamual from: Easons / Dubray / BookstationSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 101 - Serving C*nt at the Crossroads

After a brief hiatus following the release of their 100th episode, the boys are back and they’re giddier and gayer than ever. Though he looks much younger than PJ, Kevin recently turned 30 and the pair use the opportunity to share twenty things they wish they knew in their twenties. From top-knot regret to learning to love carrot cake, the boys do a deep dive of their last decade in the hope that others can learn from their mistakes.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 100 - There Could Be 100 Girlies in the Room

To celebrate making it to their hundredth episode the lads decide to do a live recording in Dublin with a few of the nearest and dearest and some of the Patreon girlies. They discuss their antics on the Late Late and read out some of the chaotic tweets that have been hurled their way, speak to their mams and get roasted by a few of their funny friends. They also surprise each other to mark the special occasion.Special thanks to Feargh Curtis, Megan Curtis, Peter McGann, Fionnuala Jay, Shane Daniel Byrne and the team at The Mayson.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 99 - Gaeilge Loving Gays

PJ has just landed in London and reveals the ordeal he went through with a spoiled child in M&S. Meanwhile Kevin is still slightly traumatised from a recent dog walking venture with his new friend who he decides to call Clifford for the sake of identity protection.Inspired by Seachtain na Gaeilge the lads talk about their love of their native tongue after a rocky theme intro from PJ. They speak about Irish college, whether they think Irish should be compulsory in schools and mention some of their favourite Irish phrases, enlisting the help of some of their Gaeilgeoir friends for a bit more snas.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨Míle buíochas,@lauralolslots@eoinkeane101@gaylgeoiri@muinteoirmeg@blathnaidrua Hosted on Acast. Ep 98 - The Hungry Games

The boys are recording together in Dublin as Kevin was over for an event that they were both asked to DJ at. As part of the set they did Rock The Boat and the lads reckon it was one of the hardest ab workouts they've done in ages. Also in the catchup, Kevin recounts a suspected crime he witnessed on the tube. The theme for the week is comfort food and they start off by ripping the food pyramid to shreds and deduce that it's not nutritionally sound and that it was all an inside job to get us to consume more dairy. PJ tells us how he was seduced by Jose's skills in the kitchen and Kevin shares that he's lucky to be alive having eaten the radioactive cupcakes from his sister's Easy-Bake Oven growing up. They then read out people's perfect hangover cures and rip the piss out of a girl who loves dried mango and dark chocolate because that's just notions.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 97 - Thirty, Flirty and Boring

The episode starts off with a mystery to solve. Kevin was accosted in the streets en route to the record and they need try and find out who the men in question were. PJ meanwhile is busy being boring making his own kombucha. It's giving snore. The theme for the week in flirting and the lads discuss the perennial problem of being a friendly Irish gay person in London; it's often mistaken for flirting. They talk about flirting in the early days by leaving a crush a litany of voicemails and they also test out their flirting techniques on each other to not much avail.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 96 - Oh Me Nerves!

PJ has given Kevin the ick because he keeps referring to the work they do together as 'content' and it makes Kevin feel like they live in a Tik Tok hype house. They then spend the rest of the catch-up fawning over a professional dancer they both had a crush on back in the day. The focus is then shifted towards the topic of nerves. Though they're quite calm and collected for the most part these days, when they were younger Kevin was up in a heap when he had to give a speech to the Lord Mayor and PJ recalls how his stomach once slipped out his ass when he was taking a dance class and someone whipped out a camera.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 95 - Klutz Era

PJ has noticed a few changes in Kevin from having spent the last few days with him in London. He's very impressed with his cooking abilities which have come a long way since his Linda McCartney sausage days and he also thinks that Kevin has elevated his outfits. A change that Kevin has not welcomed is the fact that he is now in his klutz era; he took a hopper in his most recent Crossfit class and was mortified. Did Kevin mention he does Crossfit now?The theme is gambling and despite the fact that the lads aren't massive risk-takers themselves they suggest what forms of gambling they could be allured by and offer interior-design advice for the bookies to get more gay punters through the door because currently the decor is not giving.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 94 - Don't Be A Bystandard

PJ just arrived in London and tells us how triggered he is from all the chaotic people he encountered in Dublin Airport before his flight and Kevin is still traumatised from an accident he had at the weekend which nearly gave him a sexy scar. The theme for the week is bullying and the lads start off by discussing the fact that when they were in school a new anti-bullying campaign was shoved in their face every week but they're not sure how effective the campaigns were. They talk about the ridiculous insults people used in their teens, Kevin buying McDonald's for a girl who had her phone screen smashed by bullies and they reveal why they refuse to stop using the term 'hetty'. Ep 93 - Cost of Sliving Crisis

Kevin is back in London but his return wasn't all plain sailing as he tells us of the ordeal he went through with his suitcase at Heathrow Airport. In celebrity news, Molly Mae and Tommy Fury have just called their newborn baby Bambi and the lads reckon people shouldn't worry about the girl having to apply for a mortgage with that name because her mam is minted. The theme for the week is money management and Kevin and PJ discuss their spending habits and question whether they need to start being more sensible when it comes to budgeting now that they're approaching their thirties. They then read chaotic submissions from listeners who have spent their money on ridiculous bits including a mad thing who spent €180 on two mugs from Germany.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 92 - Poles Apart

Well, Kevin has finally finished with Sleeping Beauty and is slightly hungover for the record as he was out late for the wrap party. He’s also slightly h word which PJ takes issue with. Though his contract has come to an end he is still carrying the weight of being a 'role model' for the next generation of performers, a title he takes quite seriously and is kind of obsessed with. The boys then dissect Spare, the new memoir from Prince Harry, though they already know an awful lot about the contents of the book by seeing things online and against their own will. They take a look at the most chaotic aspects of the book and question why a man of his age uses words like todger and gan gan. No need for it. They also have great difficulty in ascertaining the difference between the North and South Pole but at least they’re both pretty.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 91 - Car Boots and Cocaine

The boys are recording in PJ's house in Dublin and Kevin expresses his concern that the cats have taken over the gaff since his last visit. The boys are mortified because they have slowly come to the realisation that sea swims are a small bit stunning but were taking the piss out of sea swimmers for ages so now they're eating their words. Then, because the boys are still on an engagement buzz, they go through listeners' submissions of chaotic wedding moments; from brides getting their toes sucked to a nan having their wrist broken in the bouquet toss, some of the stories are absolutely bananas!Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 90 - Yes Way, Jose

It's the first episode of 2023 and Kevin is still using the term chillaxing but we move. The lads have a quick catch-up on what they got up to over Christmas and New Year's and both come to the conclusion that they detest Snuggies (sorry Lindsey). But the big news is that Jose got down on one knee on New Year's eve and popped the question and PJ felt like he was having an out-of-body experience and said yes so now they've a wedding to save for and Kevin is obviously weak for them but is also weak for the fact that this means loads of extra content for the podcast. Also PJ shares details of his stunning engagement ring and Kevin reveals how he was tempted to leak a photo of the ring to the press.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 89 - Poxic Tositivity

It's the last episode of 2022 and what better way to kick things off than pondering over the dilemma of whether you would shag Tom Hardy or not if he was your first cousin. 2022 has been all over the gaff but the boys do their best to try and reflect on the nicer moments of the last 12 months. Kevin and PJ also give some chaotic predictions for the year ahead and question whether peplum will ever have the resurgence it so rightly deserves.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 88 - Mortification Station

Kevin had his opening night of the pantomime but the first show didn't go as smoothly as he would have liked and he was a small bit traumatised. PJ is also a small bit traumatised this week as he has developed a lisp since he started wearing his new retainer. Then because they had a load of submissions that they never got to last time they read out some more mortifying moments. There's a story about a waitress assaulting a customer who she believed to be her friend with a menu, a woman having a really awkward encounter with a mirror in a shop in Dublin and an altar server who took their role at the church a little too seriously and the lads are left squealing at the chaos of it all.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 87 - Pussy Puce

PJ has once again gotten the train down to Cork to see Kevin as the lads agree that the vibes are always immaculate when they’re recording in person together but one thing they’re not happy about is the fact that the sweet trolley hasn’t yet made a return to Iarnród Éireann. PJ was Christmas decoration shopping at the weekend and is feeling all kinds of festive and the lads discuss chaotic gifts they asked Santa for in the past. They then turn their attention to embarrassing moments prompted by a mortifying encounter Kevin had in London with a tote-bearing girl he presumed to be a fan of the pod. They talk about the fact that they don’t really get too embarrassed themselves and that it’s more-so the little things that send them spiralling. But one thing they both agree on is the fact that David Beckham should definitely be mortified for himself. They then read some listener submissions of embarrassing stories.  Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 86 - The Thorn of Tralee

The episode begins with PJ having a bone to pick with Kevin regarding a hidden hairdryer in his house. The theme for the week is beauty pageants and to kick things off they play the incomparable 2007 Miss Teen USA quote regarding Americans' inability to locate the US on a world map before moving on to discuss the chaos and short-comings of the Rose of Tralee contest and its unhinged predecessor Calor Housewife of the Year. And of course how could the world of pageantry be explored without speaking about the stunning work of Sandra Bullock in the camp cult classic, Miss Congeniality.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 85 - A Snug in the Stars

The episode begins with an unprovoked attack against the layout of PJ's kitchen, though really the only person at fault is the sadistic cowboy builder who left the Kirby household with three fake drawers and a shortage of sockets. The boys also share their disdain of personalised mugs with photos and cursive fonts and Kevin reckons PJ's sister Lindsey should know better. Then, prompted by the similarity between PJ and the picture of Bono on the front of his new book the boys put their U2 discography knowledge to the test. The theme this week is astrology and the lads are fairly sceptical of the whole stars and crystals thing but find a stunning website which kind of convinces them that there's some truth and accuracy to it.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 84 - A Lesson in Speech and Elocution

The episode starts with the lads announcing that Kevin is appearing in the Cork Opera House pantomime this year (oh yes he is etc etc) and how he already has a romanticised vision of his Christmas in Cork. The pair then move on to the theme for this week which is accents and ponder whether the podcast would be as successful as it is if it wasn’t for their Cork accents. They also have very little faith in the suggestion that Irish people have the sexiest accent in the world (surely not like?) and put their acting skills to the test by taking famous movie quotes and giving them a Leeside spin.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 83 - This Is What Dreams Are Made Of

The lads recently went on a trip to the Royal Albert Hall to see Sam Smith with Universal Music Ireland and came to the realisation that they do in fact like concerts as long as it’s seated and the setting is glamour. They then turn their attention towards the theme this week ‘dreams’ and because they’re pretty clueless on the topic, even when it comes to their own chaotic dreams, they call on the help of expert and author Delphi Ellis to help explore the subject further. She helps the lads debunk some dream myths, helps Kevin analyse the phrase ‘It’s Chico time’ and speaks of a new phenomenon whereby people are so stressed about getting 8 hours sleep a night that they can’t cope and their sleep is inhibited further.Delphi’s book Answers in the Dark: Grief, Sleep and How Dreams Can Help You Heal can be purchased on Amazon or HiveSign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: ✨ Hosted on Acast. Ep 82 - Pádraig from the Podcast

There’s not much time to have a catch up on the weeks’ antics in this episode as a long-anticipated guest is in PJ’s kitchen and is an eager beaver and buzzing to record. Despite a hectic school schedule, Pádraig has finally managed to make it in front of the mic and he wastes no time in divulging dating app interactions, his very first impressions of Kevin way back in primary school and just how mad he is about his own mam. Ep 81 - My Therapist Roasted Me

After a few weeks off following the passing of Kevin’s Dad Jerry, the boys are back and are picking up where they left off. They talk about Jerry and how he was one of the podcast’s biggest supporters and how much of a legend he was in general. The lads know he’s going to be watching over them and keeping a close eye on their future projects.Kevin shares that because it’s been a whirlwind of a year he has recently started therapy and though he’s loving it he’s worried he’s too hung up on having his therapist like him. PJ has two new cats Happy and Sailor and he speaks about finding the balance now that he’s a working mam. It’s been a hectic few days for the boys as PJ tells us of his ordeal sorting out flights to Oz for his mam and Kevin shares the details of a new foxy friend who has decided to pay him a visit at his house in London. Then prompted by the talk of someone bringing their dog on a first date they discuss icks; things that are instant turn-offs, making your skin crawl and killing your boner. The boys soon realise however that they’re kind of into a lot of the icks that the girlies have, especially Kevin when it concerns anything relating to the male foot.Sign up to the I'm Grand Mam Patreon for more stunning content: Hosted on Acast. Ep 79 - Type 2 Liabetes

The lads are are still recovering after Dublin Pride having hosted the main stage at Mother but still have the energy to divulge the details of the weekends’ antics. Kevin also finds the energy to have a go at the PR companies for being cheapskates and only sending bits to PJ because he lives in Dublin. They then go from reality to the world of fiction and discuss everything to do with telling lies. Growing up gay they had to lie about who they were in order to protect themselves which makes them question if it is okay to lie sometimes. They also dress Kevin’s lying compulsion and he comes clean about his condition and read out chaotic lies submitted by listeners which makes them feel better about their lie-telling tendencies. Ep 78 - Work the Runway

And just like that the boys are back into the swing of things. They’re on a high off the back of the official release of the single and are slightly raging that Beyoncé dropped her bop in the same week. Also in the same week Harry styles was spotted sea swimming in Dublin and it made the lads h word.Prompted by the pandemonium taking place within airports across the globe, Kevin and PJ tackle catching flights and not feelings as the theme for the week. The wait is finally over. The boys are back and they couldn’t be more excited. They get you up to speed on some of the things that have changed since the last time they recorded. Amongst other things, PJ’s now based in Dublin, they’ve a new jingle for the podcast and everyone wants to shag Kevin. They speak about how obsessed they were with seeing ABBA Voyage but were petrified at the same time because it’s all a bit Black Mirror. They then debut their new single, the gay anthem of the summer, Fast Lane. Prompted by their new-found vocations as pop stars they discuss faking it until you make it and not having a notion about something but giving off the energy that you do. Donate to LGBT Ireland's Key Support Worker Fund 🏳️‍🌈: Stream Fast Lane 🏁: Hosted on Acast. They discuss the chaos at the airport with all the feral kids on their flight, being the biggest gays Salou ever did see and Kevin gives his top Spanish phrases you need to know if you’re queer and heading away on a holiday.Access bonus podcasts and additional video footage by subscribing to our Patreon: Hosted on Acast. Ep 74 - Check Your Tits Babe

This weeks episode very nearly didn’t happen as Kevin’s voice is virtually non-existent having attended a Britney-themed night out at the weekend and then having taught two spin classes back to back the next morning but being the professional he is, he soldiers on. They talk about the latest addition to PJ’s tattoo collection and wish a happy birthday to a special man in their lives. They then speak to their friend Lauren Mahon (IG: @Iamlaurenmahon) otherwise known as GirlVsCancer and talk about her inspiring story of building a community of support and raising thousands of pounds for charity following her breast cancer diagnosis in 2016. They talk about her work on the BBC podcast You, Me and The Big C, discuss what exactly it means to be a boss babe, PJ’s addiction to trying to normalise everything and the weird half-voice Irish mams do when they don’t want everyone to hear them.Sign up for a Coppafeel Free Boob Check Reminder Text: Hosted on Acast. Ep 73 - Cruising For A Bruising

The boys are feeling rested and refreshed as PJ spent the week with the boyf in Dublin and Kevin had the gaff to himself so he was in his element. They talk about the fact that Rihanna has become a billionaire which means that if we’re to eat the rich then we’re going to have to hide her down in West Cork somewhere as she’s one of the good ones. The theme for this week is fights and feuds even though Kevin couldn’t punch his way out of a paper bag. They recall physical altercations they’ve had in the past, discuss iconic celebrity fall-outs and name people they reckon they could take in a fight (so Niall Horan watch out babe). Hosted on Acast. Ep 71 - Ten A's Twomey

The episode starts off with Kevin taking the piss out of PJ for purchasing a rose gold fan because PJ has always been so vocal about the fact that he despises anything in that colour. And because Kevin’s hairdryer blew up just before the record they put out an appeal to Dyson to send them a fan and new hairdryer. Pretty please?Confessions are back due to popular demand and of course they’re as chaotic as ever. From faking Leaving Cert results to a stunning life hack on how to quickly get rid of a tricky number two, the girlies do not disappoint with their disclosures. Also find out Kevin’s nickname that he swears he didn’t come up with himself in school. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 70 - Baby On Board

The lease on the lads’ gaff is nearly up and they’re contemplating moving elsewhere but Kevin has grown too attached to having a bedroom on the ground floor and reckons he would fare well in a bungalow. They also discuss a wedding they’re both due to attend and because Kevin won't know anyone there he's planning to adopt a different persona for the duration of the event. They then have a chat about starting a family as a queer person and speak with Ranae von Meding (IG: @ranaevonmeding), the CEO and co-founder of Equality For Children, an organisation who are doing stunning work fighting for the rights of children of LGBTQ+ families.ResourcesEquality for ChildrenWebsite: https://equalityforchildren.ieIG: @equalityforchildrenSome Families PodcastSpotify: Hosted on Acast. Ep 69 - Up The Rasa

The lads starts off by issuing a public apology to their fave Roy Keane after Kevin’s brother informed them that he did not in fact throw a boot at Mick McCarthy. Mortified. The pair then discuss a theme that’s a combination of two of their favourite things; summer and camp - summer camp! They discuss their experiences of summer camps in their youth, the struggle to make friends whilst there, teaching kids at camps and the iconic Irish drink known simply as Rasa. Hosted on Acast. Ep 68 - Cirque Du So Gay

The boys have one question and one question only; when are the Euros over? They can’t stand all the football lads being loud and causing a raucous but are both in agreement that Roy Keane is a ride. Prompted by having the word ‘gay’ shouted at them this week by a stranger and because Pride month has just come to a close they talk about the importance of being proud 365 days a year and being visibly and unashamedly queer and all the work that is still left to be done to make the world a better place for the LGBTQ+ community.  Hosted on Acast. Ep 67 - Two Pumps for JLo

It’s been a week of makeovers girlies and the lads are only itching to tell all about their new looks. It appears the new aesthetics have been perfectly timed as Kevin and PJ also reveal that they’ve landed a new tv gig talking all things Love Island on The 6 O’ Clock Show and they are absolutely weak for themselves but are up in a heap because they’ve no nice clothes. Excitement aside, they turn their attention to conspiracy theories but in true I’m Grand Mam style it’s a bit of a struggle as they can’t wrap their heads around some of the more difficult concepts (still don’t have a clue what the Mandela Effect is). They also talk about The Illuminati, Shakespeare being a pure snake, celebs ordering kids on their pizza and Avril Lavigne dying a death. They also talk about some of their own conspiracy theories and share their plans of starting a new versh of the Feis Maitiú competition. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 66 - Serial Filler

Most of the catch-up this week consists of PJ dragging Kevin for his choice of shirt which is completely deserved as it is quite tragic and reeks of a nan. Kevin also details a recent near death experience on his bike which left him completely traumatised because he feared he’d die with helmet hair. The lads then turn their attention to the world of plastic surgery and body augmentation. They talk about bits they’d like to have done, the chaotic noughties TV show 'The Swan' and also read out some body-mod submissions made by listeners who share the good, the bad and the completely chaotic. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 65 - Nosey Out

The lads spent the weekend on an inflatable boat and though the world knows all about it because of Instagram they both felt obliged to mention it on the podcast too because it was so unreal. Also, their best friend Paul won a BAFTA and this also gets a mention in the catchup. For this weeks episode Kevin and PJ answer questions submitted by the listeners and though he's spoken about working on board a cruise ship a million times before Kevin spills the tea on one of the most chaotic moments he had whilst on board the 'giant shopping centre on water'. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 64 - Masc4Masc

It’s Pride month and the weather is stunning and corporations are jumping on the performative allyship bandwagon once again and saying they love the gays and are calling us queens which leads the lads to deliver a v important PSA; stop calling gay people 'queen' immediately. The lads also talk about their tv debut and Kevin discloses his iconic skincare hack for a glowing complexion and then the pair turn their attention to the theme for this week which is toxic masculinity. From lads shadowboxing in the gym in between sets to not being able to open up about how they’re feeling, PJ and Kevin discuss just how chaotic (and damaging) this behaviour can be. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 63 - Nah I'm Dead

TW // deathNature is healing as the lads celebrate their first proper hangover in what feels like forever. And because they were dying all day Sunday the lads thought it was only fitting to choose death as the theme this week. From planning their own funerals to writing their own wills and choosing what they’d like to be reincarnated as, the pair are well and truly ready for when the grim reaper pays a visit in her cinched black corset and thigh high boots. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 62 - Club. Nother Club. Nother Club. No Sleep.

The lads are still on a high from their first episode back and their week was made all the more enjoyable by the talented piano player next door. The joy didn’t last long however as they discovered that J*mes C*rdon would be part of the much anticipated Friends reunion. The theme this week is queer nightlife and the lads talk about the significance of queer spaces for LGBTQ people, their fave gay clubs to frequent and etiquette for cis-hetero people who want in on the fun including a lengthy list of songs you should never under any circumstances request from a DJ at a gay bar. Or any bar for that matter. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 61 - Werk the House Down Boots

The lads are back with season 5 and they promise it's going to be the biggest skittybang of a season to date. They catch up on what they got up to during their break; Kevin turned 28 and got a 'no junkmail' sign for the letterbox and PJ died his hair green and got a new personality. Then prompted by their iconic new season promo video in which they skydive from a plane at 11,500 feet in the air they talk about other items on their bucket list. From slapping childhood bullies to being taught how to salsa by a sexy fella in South America, the boys want to do it all (except run a marathon because like what a trek). Hosted on Acast. See for more information.
16/05/21·1h 4m

Ep 60 - Werk Mama

The lads decide to finish off the season in the most wholesome way possible by having the iconic duo Nuala and Phil on for the chats and they do not disappoint. The conversation starts off with the mammies talking about their love for the podcast and becoming accidental influencers and how they’d love a few free bits from Lancôme and Dermalogica 👀They are then tested on their knowledge of gay slang and the lads are gooped and gagged by how much their mams know....Yasss Qweens! If you’re craving more content then check out the Patreon Hosted on Acast. Ep 59 - Long Hair Don't Care

January isn’t even over and we’ve already received one of the hottest headlines to ever grace a tabloid paper; ‘PJ Kirby Is Growing The Gruaig’ and of course Kevin doesn’t waste the opportunity to rip the piss out of him for it. And then because the lads are admittedly ‘scraping the barrel’ they open up the episode to questions submitted by listeners. It turns out to be an incredibly candid episode with the boys telling us about some of the major fights they’ve had, stealing granola from landladies and a detailed description of a chaotic anniversary tarpaulin. Also Joe Wicks’ fart gets a mention. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.
18/01/21·1h 6m

Ep 58 - Call Of Beauty

2021 is off to a chaotic start and in Kevin’s words has almost felt like a ‘fever dream’. From right-wing terrorists storming The Capitol to white gays sinking a cruise ship in Puerto Vallarta, it seems like 2021 has simply switched wigs with 2020 and the lads can't cope. The theme for this week is beauty and grooming and the boys finally drop that skin-care regime because we know you’ve been gagging to know the secret behind the glow. They talk about the pressure of being well-groomed as gay men and how some hetero Irish lads get away with murder and they also read out some horror stories in a section they’ve aptly named Beautiful Disasters. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 57 - A Queer Old Year

2020 is finally over and the lads couldn’t be more obsessed. But what exactly have they learned about themselves in the most chaotic year they’ve ever lived through? The boys start by reflecting on their resolutions from last year which are all laughable really but there is something to be said for Kevin’s prediction that it wasn’t going to be his year. They then recount the most implicitly queer moments of 2020; instances you didn’t know were très gay at first glance, but upon further reflection were actually as gay as a bottle of Super Rush in a young twink's spray-on Topman skinny jeans' pocket or PJ choosing a Prada clutch as his luxury item in a zombie apocalypse. Here's to a stunning 2021 girlies! Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 56 - Make The Yuletide Gay

It’s the Christmas special nobody asked for but you’re getting anyway and what better way to spread some festive cheer than with some minimalist metallic nails that PJ got done in a fancy nail gaf in Soho. The lads waste no time and get straight into discussing iconic Christmas movies, gay gifts they wish they’d have had the courage to ask for when they were younger and the origins of Santa Claus, who we learn came from very humble beginnings in the country that is now Turkey but God knows what it was called at the time as PJ only watched snippets of a 15 minute video on Youtube. Happy Christmas Girlies! Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 55 - Finbarry's Tea

It’s been an eventful week in the girlie’s gaf with Kevin ordering an antenna for the tv which means he can finally catch up on watching Tipping Point and The Chase, though PJ argues that The Cube is actually superior to both. Then they tackle the theme for this week which is unpopular opinions, prompted by PJ disclosing earlier in the week that he thinks some babies are ugly, a sentiment which Kevin disagrees with vehemently. They share their own unpopular opinions (which results in a fight over the name Finbarr) and give their take on some of the chaotic unpopular opinions sent in by listeners. One listener chimed in to say they think the phrase chaotic is overused which we think is chaotic. Sorry not sorry. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 54 - Nouveau Riche

2020 has been a year of unexpected events but one thing we never could have predicted was Kevin going viral over a Percy Pig tweet. The lads discuss the pig pandemonium and the hype of last week’s toy show before addressing the theme for this week which is money. They talk money troubles, being poor paupers when first moving to London and panicking every time they had to pay for their grocery shopping, chaotic money splurges and the supposed greatest investment made by any child born in the 90's; the infamous Beanie Baby. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 53 - Capital Rude

In this episode the lads discuss PJ serving a look with his new pearl necklace which has left Dot Cotton off Corrie shaking and also leads them to talk about Harry Styles’ recent Vogue cover. The lads then explore going with your gut and making decisions in an age where we are overwhelmed with options which leads to choice paralysis which is PJ's favourite term ever. Then, to make the episode more fully-rounded and because they’re in the mood to have a skit, they play a game of ‘Would You Rather’ and the girlies did not disappoint with the chaotic submissions. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 52 - Two Gays Walk into a Bar

Christmas is fast approaching and as the festive season is known as being a period of overindulgence and drinking loads, the lads decide to dedicate an entire episode to alcohol. The Irish have a reputation for being fond of the drink and Kevin and PJ look into this stereotype and discuss whether it applies to them or not. They recall their first experiences drinking alcohol, determine what your choice of drink says about you (for them their go to is a gin and slim tonic which implies that they’re both raging homosexuals much to everyone’s surprise) and give a definitive list of top tier hangover munch. If you are concerned about your own or a loved one’s drinking head to for further information and a list of support services in Ireland.Link to our iconic hoodies: Hosted on Acast. Ep 51 - GAA(y)

It’s only November but the lads don’t have a whole lot to be looking forward to so they start discussing the Christmas adverts that have already made an appearance on tv screens. They then turn their attention to sport and the relationship LGBTQ+ people have with sport and some of the queer trailblazers who’ve paved the way on the pitch. They also give their hot takes on chaotic PE teachers, rank the gayest sports in existence and do an interview with Luke Nolan, one of the co-founders of Na Gaeil Aeracha (IG: @rainbowgaels), Ireland’s first explicitly queer-inclusive GAA team - we love to see it. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 50 - Golden Gays

It’s the first week of the second lockdown but the lads are in flying form as they’re celebrating their fiftieth episode. However, they very nearly didn’t make it this far as we learn from a chaotic voice note which Kevin sent PJ after they released the very first episode. They take a look back at previous episodes and talk about their fave moments from I’m Grand Mam to date and play messages from listeners all over the world sharing why they tune in every week. They then reveal gifts they got for each other to commemorate the occasion. Pop the prosecco and take out the telescopes girlies, it’s time to celebrate. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 49 - It's The Smell For Me

Kevin and PJ are happy to report back that following last weeks brief rendezvous with a ouija board that they haven’t had any further encounters with chaotic spirits. They discuss the closure of the iconic middle aisle in Lidl and Aldi and prompted by a challenge on The Glow Up (which Kevin is obsessed with btw), they explore fears and phobias. From dreading car journeys with their friends’ dads when they were young to having to repeat a supposedly funny story to a randomer, the lads tackle their fears head on. But will PJ be able to face his greatest fear of all? Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 48 - A Stunning, Spooky Séance

The lads start off by reacting to the news that Pope Francis is a huge fan of the podcast and has decided to back same-sex civil unions - work papa! Then, prompted by an ick thread on twitter, Kevin and PJ give an account of things that give them the ick. Hufflepuff gays you’ve been warned. Then, as it’s Halloween, the lads have chosen crossing-over as the theme for the week and attempt to have a skit with a few spirits by using a Ouija board. Cue chaos. Though they were hoping to make a connection with the likes of Lady Diana and Fungie, they actually end up having an ethereal encounter with the Michael Collins magnet on their fridge.  Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 47 - Arty Farty

The boys haven’t seen much of each other this week which Kevin thinks is a good thing as absence makes the heart grow fonder and it means they’ve loads of catching up to do. Kevin tells us about a recent traumatic run where he popped the bubble in his Air Max runners and PJ shares an encounter he had with a woman who was pure hungry so he got her a fry up. Then prompted by Fatima looking to retrain in cyber security and Rishi being annoying, the lads turn their attention to the arts and discuss how important it is in our lives. From dates at the Tate to getting locked at the theatre, life on Earth sans art would just be ‘eh’. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.
18/10/20·57m 24s

Ep 46 - Soggy Bottoms

This week the boys start off by revealing the results of the poll they did to see who opens the window before a shower and who opens it afterwards and it’s fair to say Kevin is raging. They also detail a recent fight they had which they had to overcome quite quickly as they were being interviewed by the iconic Miriam O’ Callaghan the next morning. Then to lighten the mood and in an effort to lift the listener’s and their own spirits, the lads read out some anonymous confessions and are left shaking. There’s some good, some bad and some that are just downright chaotic. And that’s clickbait girlies x Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 45 - Yeah, But Is It French?

A local cat has gone missing in the area so Kevin and PJ start off by making an appeal to the public for the misplaced kitty. This leads to the pair uncovering some of their most irrational fears surrounding going missing or being kidnapped. They then turn their attention to iconic duos and for once and for all disclose the full details about how they met and became friends when they were both young closeted twinks with dodgy quiffs. They also talk about other iconic duos that have made a massive impact on their lives such as a packet of Chipstix with a can of Club Orange. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 44 - Tents, Tents, Tents Across The Board

No one could have predicted this year to turn out the way it has, not even Rosemary the psychic from episode 23 knew how chaotic it was going to be. To ensure they’re well equipped to withstand any more extreme occurrences 2020 has to throw at them such as a zombie apocalypse or Mr Brightside reentering the charts, Kevin and PJ take to a tent to test their survival skills. Will PJ’s history with the scouts give him an upper hand in the wild? Will sudocreme prove to be a shrewd choice of luxury item for Kevin? Will they even last the night? It’s all v in tents girlies. Ep 42 - Transition Year Made Me Gay

It’s been a week of chaotic headlines so Kevin and PJ waste no time getting stuck in and giving their hot takes on gender reveal parties, sniffing soldiers and old fellas bringing alarm clocks to their local. The lads then turn their attention to the queerest year in the Irish education system; Transition Year. From school musicals where Kevin downplayed Alexandra Burke’s Bad Boys choreography and PJ gave a questionable rendition of Careless Whisper, to living their bad bitch CEO Dragons Den fantasy with the mini-company, TY truly was the year the gays thrived. If you did Transition Year you’re gay now, we don’t make the rules.G'wan, have a lamp off the Patreon Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 41 - Mwah Mwah Bisous

The wait is over girlies and the boys are back and are ready to have a skittybang with season 4. Firstly, there’s a whole lot of catching up to do as the lads have been v busy during the hiatus getting scammed by people on Gumtree and falling in love with every Deliveroo driver to ever ride a bike around Cork City. They talk about the importance of taking a break, things that should take a break and the most iconic Take A Break headlines to ever grace the pages of the chaotic magazine. They’ve also started a Patreon for the girlies who just can’t get enough and you can become part of the community at Hosted on Acast. They speak about feeling pure awkward around their dads when they were younger watching matches on tv that they had no interest in, the struggle of having their dads help them with their homework bits and their dads being allies. They also wish a happy Fathers Day to some of the other zaddies in the world and read out some stories from listeners about how their iconic dads showed up for the LGBTQ+ community. Hosted on Acast. Ep 38 - D-N-GAY

The lads kick things off by expressing their infatuation with the latest iconic figure to take the gay scene by storm; PJ’s 3 year old niece Tess. Then the lads begin chatting about genetic bits as they were sent DNA kits that they had to spit into and send away but they’re a small bit up to 90 because they didn’t really read the final print so they’re afraid they could be cloned but they also think that could be kind of glam to have gorgey gay clones of themselves. The conversation then turns to twins, rollercoasters and PJ getting botox as his skin is pure old.Direct Provision Donation girlies: Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

They then discuss the chaotic art of pebble-dashing before turning their attention to the #BlackLivesMatter movement. We now know it is not enough to not be a racist; we all have a duty to actively be anti-racist and as the lads were not sure where to start with their allyship, they share the tips of some of their fave iconic black people to help get the ball rolling. Split Your Donations Between Organisations Fighting for Racial Justice: Box’d Out Podcast by Amanda Adé: Black Trans Activist Munroe Bergdorf: O’ Flynn Anti-Racism Letter Template to Irish TDs: Hosted on Acast. Ep 36 - Girlies V Mammies

Because the lads are weak for Lady Gaga’s new bop with Ariana Grande, they turn their attention to fandoms and ask what makes people so obsessed with celebrities. They discuss things they themselves used to be obsessed with it, try and guess the different names for different fandoms and for once and for all try and settle the score on whether I’m Grand Mam fans should be known as girlies or mammies. Kinda love both tbh. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

Ep 35 - I'm Not Grand Mam

The theme for this years #mentalhealthawarenessweek is kindness and though the lads are fairly good at being nice to others and being everyone’s biggest hype girlies, sometimes being kind to themselves doesn’t come as easy. To try and get better at this they call on the help of behavioural change specialist and full-time glam bitch Shahroo Izadi (IG: @shahroo_izadi) who is also the author of ‘The Kindness Method’, a book which details a new approach to driving positive change by being more sound to yourself. This week the lads are joined by the star of the hit tv series Normal People; the ride that is Paul Mescal and everyone is up to ninety. They discuss how he is handling his newfound fame and all the attention from the gays and the girlies, get him to read some filthy thirst tweets, chat about living up to the expectations of a character from one of the most adored novel’s of our generation and basically just spend the entire episode fawning over him because he is so fecking lovely. Paul being on the show is proof that if you put something out in the universe and speak about it often enough then it just might come true and the lads are WEAK. Contains some spoilers girlies (sorry not sorry) and also the sound quality may not be as fab as usual as it was recorded over Zoom because isolation obvs. Hosted on Acast. See for more information.

It’s Kevin’s birthday this week and all the girlies are invited. PJ fills us in on the surprise virtual party he organised for his bff which featured a talent competition made up of Kevin’s friends, family and a flautist. They then discuss birthdays when they were younger and the lengths they would go to in order to try and secure a spot at the popular parties. Prompted by Trump’s truly chaotic suggestion of injecting disinfectant into the body to help combat Coronavirus (like what the absolute heck?), the lads explore the medium of fake news and how destructive it can be when it gets into the hands of an Irish mammy via Whatsapp. They reflect on rumours that were spread about them when they were growing up as well as admitting to spreading their fair share of rumours for the skit and they couldn’t let the episode go by without giving a mention to the lies told to us by our own mams. Ep 31 - Bless Me Daddy For I Have Sinned

As we have more time with our thoughts these days, people are letting their conscience get the better of them and are feeling guilty for past misdemeanours. Fortunately, Kevin and PJ are here to absolve you from your sins. The lads trace the origin of the 7 Deadly Sins and question why wanting to get the ride, taking a nap or having a bowl of cereal bigger than the 30g recommended serving suggestion could be perceived as evil. They listen to some chaotic confessions made by listeners and give their take on what the penance should be and also talk about how allergic they are to the 5k challenge and come up with a less taxing assignment of their own.Samaritans Helpline in Ireland and UK: 116 123.
